Easter Throwback

WORKOUT 20 miles @ 7:53 pace on trail I was happy with this run. Considering the 60 degree start and super sunny skies, I can’t complain about my pace. My knee felt surprisingly fine, but my quads were sore about half way through. I’ll do a more in depth recap later, today is about Easter ****** I hope everyone had a HAPPY EASTER! It has been a busy day for us, as I’m sure it has for a lot of you I’ll recap my long run and Easter Festivities this week, but for now I’ll keep it light with some […]

Sweet Dreams and Number Problems

WORKOUT 6 miles @ 8:28 pace on treadmill/ weights This was the lamest treadmill run to date. I felt like I needed to crack my back the entire time and every freakin channel was full of commercials (we don’t have a DVR on this TV.) I was more than happy for this run to end, which isn’t typical of me. I felt my knee at the end, but it was fine during the run. I feel like I’ve been slacking on the weights lately but I did a quick bi/tri/back/abs workout at home. ****** Boy did I sleep in this […]

Butternut Squash-alicious!

WORKOUT 8 miles @ 8:14 pace on trail The weather is just too nice to pass up an outside run! What made this run even better was turning a corner and seeing my parents walking the dog… on a FRIDAY. Totally unexpected! I forgot that it was a teacher planning day and they had it off. It was such a great surprise! I stopped taking ibuprofen (I was taking 2 a day) and I think it has made a difference. My knee is definitely more sore than it was last week. It doesn’t hurt, but it makes itself known at […]

Doritos Locos Tacos

WORKOUT 6 miles @ 8:24 pace on treadmill I guess my plan to run slower outside and faster on the treadmill was a failure, haha. I wanted to keep my run today on the easier side, as I’m going to take advantage of the cooler weather while it lasts and run outside again tomorrow. I know I said I was going to keep it to 2 days outside, but the heat and humidity are going to rise soon and the 50-60 degree temps are calling my name! I could feel my knee a bit in the beginning and then again […]

Burrrr!

WORKOUT 8 miles @ 7:57 pace on trail My run went great! I think I even got a bit of a farmers tan from the cloudless, sunny skies! I only checked my watch once at my turn around point. I was very happy to have run under an 8 min mile without checking my watch because this means that’s my “comfortable¬†pace” again. Yay! ****** Can we please talk about the crazy weather we are having here in Florida?! I’m not quite sure if it’s the end of March or January. It was in the 80’s with high humidity like 3 […]

Pro-Tec to the Rescue!

WORKOUT Easy 6 miles @ 8:00 pace on treadmill/ Pilates The weather outside is ALMOST perfect for running- low humidity, temperatures in the low 60’s. The crazy wind, however, is not my cup of tea! I was tempted to run outside today, but decided it’s best to stick with my 2 days outside, 4-5 days on the tready to keep my knee from hating me. Not sure if this is actually helping, but it can’t be hurting so I’ll keep at it. My treadmill run today went pretty good. The knee is less sore than it was yesterday. Pilates was […]

Nutmeg and Celery ???’s

WORKOUT 6 miles @ 8:05 pace on treadmill I think my knee is having DOKS- Delayed Onset Knee Soreness, haha. It was more sore today than yesterday (the day after my 18 miler). I decided to still run, as it didn’t hurt, I jut felt it more than normal. Fingers crossed the soreness dwindles by tomorrow ****** I have a few questions for all you foodies out there… Question #1: Does nutmeg go rancid/bad? I bought some nutmeg about a month ago and there were 4 little nuggets in the bag. I cook with and put nutmeg in my oatmeal […]
