A Girls Night BDay Party!
My knee was sore this morning, so a rest day it shall be. I did go to the gym to do upper body weights and some ab work.
Last night was a blast! We celebrated a friends birthday with a girls night in. Gone are the days of late nights out, staying up to the wee hours and feeling horrible the next day. And you know what, I am perfectly fine with that. I actually prefer it that way. It’s nice to hang out with the ladies, have some good food and drinks and just be silly. Many of these nights turn into “dance parties,” those are the best, haha. No creepy guys at a bar hitting on you or trying to dance with you. Just you and your friends, talking girl stuff and having fun. Last night started with a little personal pizza making. We each got a chunk of dough and topped it with a slue of options. Red/yellow/orange peppers, mushrooms, onion, fresh basil, pepperoni, olives, pineapple, ham, feta, mozzarella, parm, pizza sauce and pesto! Few that’s a lot of stuff!
We also had a delicious salad with blue cheese crumbles, candied walnuts and the best homemade vinaigrette. I guess we should have rolled out our crusts a little more because they puffed up a lot! Those of you who know me know that I LOVE fresh baked anything so the warm carby crust was perfect for me 🙂 I went with half traditional (pizza sauce, pepperoni, mushroom, mozzarella) and half Greekish (pesto, feta, olives.) Both side were equally delicious!
And what Birthday Party would be complete with a Birthday cake and some singing? The Bday Girl requested a Yellow Box cake with homemade chocolate butter cream frosting. A request for box cake, haha. The frosting is the most important part to me, so I was happy!
How are you celebrating your birthday this year?
Do you prefer to go out or stay in these days?
