One more plug…

WORKOUT 6 miles @ pace on treadmill/ Ab work out I usually do Pilates on Tuesdays, but my hammies were still sore and I didn’t want to stress them even more, so I just did a core routine at home and ran. My run went well and I felt no knee pain again! I don’t want to jinx it though, so I’m not too excited about it 😉 ****** For the third time I’m going to mention my parents 29th wedding anniversary. What can I say? I love them. I wanted to surprise them each with goodies at work for […]

Pool Partay!

WORKOUT 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on treadmill/ Weights Holy cow my hamstrings were sore this morning! Rolling this morning was borderline painful 🙁 but it definitely helped. My run went fine. Nothing hurt, not even my knee… knock on wood! I also did some quick weights at home. ****** Ashley’s birthday was last week and every year she likes to have a little pool party to celebrate 🙂 After my run yesterday, I was more than happy to hang out by the pool. I really needed to fix this tan line I got from Boston… Notice the Nuun tattoo on my […]

Speed Work is back in my life!

WORKOUT 2.5m easy + (4 X 1m @ tempo pace w/.25m rest) + 4.5m easy= 12m total on trail Tempo Paces- 6:53, 6:55, 6:54, 6:55= avg 6:54 Yay for my first actual speed workout in about 4 months!!! ****** I have been waiting for this day since January 1st, when I had to stop running because of my knee, which you can read about HERE. I took 2 full months off any exercise to heal my knee (which didn’t help much) then slowly started increasing my mileage to semi-prepare for the Boston Marathon. I didn’t do any speed work OR […]

Car Wash + Lo Mien= Super Saturday

WORKOUT 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on treadmill Easy run on the treadmill. I should really come up with a name for that bad boy. Everything felt good. I am pretty excited about my run tomorrow! It’ll be my first run outside since Boston and I’ve missed the Upper Tampa Bay Trail, my home away from home. ****** This morning started off slow and I am A-OK with that. My body let me sleep in until 7:15! Score! To tide me over until Todd woke up, aka breakfast time, I enjoyed my morning coffee and a Green Greek yogurt smoothie […]

Rosemary Bread Goodness

WORKOUT 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on treadmill/ Weights Had a nice easy 6 miler on the treadmill today. Nothing was really sore or hurting, so that was a nice change 🙂 I finally got my butt back to the gym to pump some iron. I usually stop doing any weights the week before a marathon and the week after to let my body focus on recovering the already damaged muscles. I could definitely tell it had been a while since I had lifted. I’ll be a good kind of sore tomorrow, haha. ****** I have to apologize. I can’t believe I didn’t tell […]

Sun Pass Awesomeness

WORKOUT 6 miles @ 8:25 pace on treadmill Things are feeling better! I am still going to stick to the treadmill until my long run Sunday on the trail, though, just to play it safe. I am so thankful to my amazing husband for our home “gym”. I KNOW I wouldn’t like dreadmill running as much as I do without that set up. I’m a lucky lady! ****** The SunPass is the Florida Department of Transportation’s prepaid toll program. It definitely saves you time and can even save you money (25% on most tolls!). How does this program work? From the […]

Roaming around Boston Paaaht 2

WORKOUT 8 miles @ 8:25 pace on treadmill I had no intention to run 8 miles this morning. My right quad seems to be taking it’s sweet time recovering, so I’ve been sticking to the tready to lessen the impact on my knee and muscles. I guess that runner’s high just took over… or maybe it was because Kelly & Michael came on and I was distracted, haha. I can’t believe I’m still a bit sore from Boston. Next hilly race I do, I WILL train for it. ****** Our second day of sight seeing in Boston was of course, […]

Boston Memorial Run

WORKOUT 4 miles @ 8:30 pace on treadmill/ Pilates My knee felt fine, but my quads were still a bit sore so I took it easy today. I haven’t been to pilates in a few weeks so I was happy to be back at it! The instructor gave me a shout out for running Boston and coming home safe. I blushed and felt special the whole class 🙂 ****** Last night, a local running store, FIT Niche, took part in a grass roots campaign  called “Runners for Boston” by holding a Memorial Run for those injured or killed in the […]

Britt’s Bridal Shower

WORKOUT 3 miles @ 8:30 pace on treadmill My quads were pretty sore, but better than yesterday. I only did 3 miles this morning because I will be running in a 3 mile Boston Memorial Run tonight. I have to have my even number mileage 🙂 ****** One of my close friends, Brittany, is getting married in June and I am honored to be one of her 10, yes 10, bridesmaids. As the big day approaches the wedding festivities are beginning. Saturday we threw her a beautiful Bridal Shower. We had it as Mimi’s Cafe and they were great. About 30 people […]

Baby Shower Brunch

WORKOUT 6 miles @ 8:35 pace on treadmill YAY! I’m running again! BUT, I’m not going to lie, this was a tough run for me. My quads are still really sore and I felt them almost the whole time. On the bright side, I didn’t feel my knee at all. I have feeling that’s just because I haven’t run in 5 days and I will probably feel it tomorrow, but I’ll take the normalness while I can 🙂 ****** My friend is having her second baby in June and we decided to have a low key baby shower to celebrate. […]
