Car Wash + Lo Mien= Super Saturday
6 miles @ 8:20 pace on treadmill
Easy run on the treadmill. I should really come up with a name for that bad boy. Everything felt good. I am pretty excited about my run tomorrow! It’ll be my first run outside since Boston and I’ve missed the Upper Tampa Bay Trail, my home away from home.
This morning started off slow and I am A-OK with that. My body let me sleep in until 7:15! Score! To tide me over until Todd woke up, aka breakfast time, I enjoyed my morning coffee and a Green Greek yogurt smoothie (spinach is a must!) before making our banana pancakes 🙂 I’ve been on a real banana kick lately. Remember how I said I was going to wash my car? Wellllll that didn’t happen. I’m not going to lie, it didn’t do it out of pure laziness. HOWEVER, this gave Todd and I the opportunity to wash our cars together! Yay!
OK. So I lied… this gave TODD the opportunity to wash my car and for me to play with Riley while I watch my handsome man at work 😉 It can be tricky rinsing the car off with Ry around though, as she likes to “catch” the water…
Can you see the stream of water she is jumping to catch? Don’t mind the dirt yard… it’s a work in progress 🙂 Look at the vertical jump in her next attempt…
We obviously worked up an appetite, so time for lunch it was! Todd has been asking me to make him Beef Lo Mien for a while now and all the recipes I come across seem so different. We like healthifying (yes that’s a word) “bad for you” foods so we can enjoy twice as much of them at home, haha. I haven’t had Lo Mien in a while, so I figured the best way to come up with a yummy recipe is to eat the real thing and compare that to the recipes online. I’m pretty good at figuring out what ingredients are in things, but Asian cuisine can be a bit more difficult, so recreating this dish should be interesting. Most of what I’ve found online seem rather simple, I just want to make sure I get it right 🙂 If I have to eat the restaurant Lo Mien to do so, well then, so be it 😉
I was so excited about the fortune cookie, I mean, who doesn’t love a surprise in a cookie? It was an epic fail…
I struggled to get the little package open and when I finally busted it open, the cookie flew across the kitchen and landed in pieces 🙁 Riley was our cleaner-upper and seemed to enjoy her “job.” I still got the fortune though…
Ehh. This was more of a life lesson than a fortune but whateve, haha.
How often do you wash your car?
Do you have a good/healthy Lo Mien recipe for me?
