Scatter Brain Saturday
6 miles @ 8:20 pace on the treadmill
I was actually feeling a bit lethargic today, but nothing was sore, so that’s good. I don’t know what that hammie episode was about earlier this week, but is has seemed to go away so Yay!
Have you guys heard about the change of the Handicap sign design in New York?
Supporters of the new icon hope that the adoption of this design by the nation’s largest city will lead to more widespread acceptance of the design. I like it and think it is an awesome upgrade to the old image.
Today is June 1st… also known as the first day of hurricane season here in the great state of Florida! I hope everyone has a hurricane preparedness plan and enough supplies to last them three days! It is forecasted that there will be 18 named storms, 9 hurricanes and 4 intense hurricanes. Here are the hurricane names for this year…
Did you know there is a difference between a pizza pie and tomato pie? Well there is! You know what a pizza pie is, but a tomato pie puts the cheese on first and THEN the sauce. Hmm, good to know.
I am watching the 2013 Nike Prefontaine Classic right now and Mary Cain just beat the 800 meter high school record. She is 17 years old and will be a senior next year. She ran a 1:59.5! What what!?! Alysia Montano, who ran in the Olympics and wears a signature red flower in her hair, walked over to Cain, gave her a big hug and put the flower in her hair… what an awesome gesture! Cain is coached by Salazar (Kara’s old coach) and I think will be the next big thing in USA Track and Field 🙂
I love watching Track and Field! You know I love racing the Marathon the best, but watching these shorter distances really makes me want to improve on them and get FASTER! 2016 is around the corner 😉
What did you do on this fine Saturday?
Do you follow any runner athletes?
