Father’s Day and 4th of July Pride
8 miles @ a Garmin-less pace on the trail
Dare I say it was a bit cooler this morning. Meaning it was only 75 with 80% humidity. Hey, I’ll take what I can get. I added a bit more weight to the bar during squats and lunges at Body Pump, so my glutes were a bit tight… nothing a good foam rolling sesh can’t fix!
My dad always requests the same thing for dinner on Father’s Day… Ham and Asparagus Lasagna. Now before you say, “Eww, Gross!” know that it is a white lasagna with a bachemal sauce, not a tomato sauce. It is delicious. Green beans and tomato, basil salad served as side.
For dessert it is usually my mom’s most delicious chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, but this year he asked for a German Chocolate Cake.
Good choice dad! Everything about this cake, from the toasted coconut and pecans to the moist, chocolaty cake, was scrumptious! And of course I arrived in style, rocking my argyle compression socks and Just Do It shirt, haha. My dad doesn’t mind the attire at all 🙂
Speaking of PRO Compression… they have the coolest new socks to celebrate the 4th of July AND a great deal to go along with it. Check em out…
Personally, they make me think of the Olympic Trials! 2016 Here I come! You can save 40% and get free shipping when you order now and use coupon code JL4. Orders received before June 21 will ship before June 24, in plenty of time for your July 4th event! And DEFINITELY in time to help you train for the Olympics… just saying 😉
Are you happy it’s Friday?
Do you always request the same things to eat for special occasions?
