Sunday Randomness

Saturday: 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on treadmill

Nothing to rave about here… just an easy recovery run.

Sunday: 12 miles @ 7:39 on trail

Recap below.

This Sunday got off to a normal start at 4:30AM for my weekly long run. I was super excited to see that it was already 79 degrees with 92% humidity. I headed out a bit before 6AM and enjoyed my time on the dark streets. Once the sun rose, I was ready to be home, haha. I was going to do 14, but I was feeling less than great, so when I hit the spot where I could either turn right and head home or go straight and do 14, I opted to head home 🙂 I think I felt lethargic because I didn’t eat enough carbs yesterday. Usually I switch out some of the protein and fats to carbs the day before a long run, but we ate out and my carb options were less than optimal. Who knows though… maybe the humidity just really got to me. Either way, I’m not training for anything specific, so cutting back my mileage won’t hurt.

There seemed to be more people out at that hour than usual. I’m assuming it’s because Fall marathon training is in full swing. I kind of what to sign up for a race right now, haha. The new Olympic Trials qualifying standards are out and I have to run a 2:43 or faster marathon to reach my goal. Holey Cow! That.Is.Fast. Looks like I have A LOT of work to do.

Lunch today were some yummy Publix subs! They always hit the spot.

I know what you’re thinking… Heather, you forgot about your Godiva Chocolate of the month! No worries my friends, here it is… the Chocolatini!

godivaIt had the perfect amount of Kahlua taste (there is no actual alcohol in the truffle) and left me wanting more. Good thing you only get one free one 😉

Are you signed up for a fall marathon?

What is your favorite kind of sub sandwich?
