Fluff + Peanut Butter= Love

WORKOUT

Sunday: 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on trail

I had to get one last run in with my new watch before I take a break completely to let my glute heal. It has been bothering me now for almost 3 weeks šŸ™ It doesn’t hurt to run on it, but I feel it throughout my run and it’s tight after. I really want to train for a fall marathon but need my body to be 100% before I start any intense workouts. SO, I am taking a break from running until it gets better. How long you ask? Could be a day (highly unlikely)could be a week… only time will tell! Keep my butt in your thoughts, bahaha.

Monday: Rest/ Upper body weights/ Abs

This post is going to be short and sweet, just like the time it took to eat the delicious treat featured. Have you ever heard of a Fluffernutter? It is a classic sandwich made with peanut butter and Fluff, which is marshmallow cream šŸ™‚ It MUST be on white bread and you must use good ole Jiff/Skippy peanut butter… not the ground nut butters I usually use. Normally, this is a great sammie in and of itself, but on a random girls lunch this weekend, we decided to take it to another level.

I headed over to Laura’s with some Fluff and bread. Side note: They don’t sell Wonderbread at Publix right now because the company was bought out, but hopefully it will be back on shelves soon for other Fluffernutter lovers out there! We started lunch out on a healthy note with a cucumber, watermelon, feta salad with a balsamic reduction along with a mixed green salad with chicken, avocado, tomatoes, corn and olives.

IMAG0935Then the real fun began… we assembled our Fluffernutters. Peanut butter on one slice of bread, fluff on the other. Great as is, but kicked up a notch like this…

IMAG0936Mmmmm. Toasty buttery bread with melty PB and marshmallow creme inside. So. Freakin. Good.

fluffernutterWhy yes. We had 2 each. They were just so yummy we had to go back for seconds. Obviously, I wouldn’t recommend eating 2 on a daily basis, but as a treat with girlfriends… go for it! Hope you ate something yummy this weekend šŸ™‚

Have you ever had a Fluffernutter?

What’s the best thing you ate this weekend?

  1. One of my dear friends makes those all the time! I had never heard of them till a couple years ago. Unfortunately we do not get the Fluff down here. Her sister brings her some when she visits form Atlanta.

  2. I never liked fluff! Even though my mom kept it in the house because my cousin loved it on her sandwiches!!!
But what a great idea to grill them, I’ll have to let her know šŸ™‚

  4. I cant believe I’ve never heard of a fluffernutter!! I am definitely going to have to try that one. I’ve noticed you haven’t been posting as often. I’m trying to increase my number of posts a week with no avail. Love your little “follow me” widget at the bottom of your page…never noticed it before.

    • Ya, I didn’t want to just post for the sake of posting, so if I have some decent content I’ll post, but if not I’ll wait. As much I Love to ramble, I don’t think most people want to hear it, haha. We should have a “blog date!”
