Short n Sweet… or Should I Say Sour

Friday: 6 miles @ 8:24 pace on treadmill/ Abs

I wanted to run 8 miles outside this morning, but something came up and I wasn’t able to 🙁 I know the only way to feel half way decent on my long runs is to run outside more during the week, so that’s what I’m trying to do. Needless to say, I wasn’t feeling 8 on the treadmill, so I did 6. My glute felt the same. I have noticed that prolonged sitting is becoming more uncomfortable.

I must forewarn you that this post is mostly going to be me complaining, haha. I’ll try and make it short. I don’t know what my deal is, but I have been in a funk this week. I think it’s mainly due to my running. I was hoping to be healthy and injury free at this point and ready to train my butt off for the Space Coast Marathon, Dec 1. There is nothing I love more than pushing my mind and body during marathon training. OK, maybe there are a few things I love more, but you get the point! After my whole knee thing at the beginning of the year, I’ve been itching to knock out some speed workouts. It’s August and I’m still sidelined from my glute. It’s like I’m at a stand still, in a period of waiting. UGH.

The only thing harder than running

is NOT running.

I think my funk also has something to do with Todd’s work schedule this week. Remember how I told you guys he’ll be having to travel to Taiwan for work? Ya, well the project he is going there to work on is in the last stages of testing and what not, so he is SUPER busy! This week they have needed him to work a later shift to provide support, so he has been going in around noon and coming home around 10PM. I’m glad we’ve had the mornings together… we’ve been eating A LOT of pancakes, haha, and Riley loves having him accompany us on our walks. BUT, I like having him home in the evening more. At least it’s Friday right? Yay for the weekend!

Sorry for the rant. I’m really hoping this weekend gets me out of my funk. I’m meeting a girlfriend for coffee Saturday morning to talk about running… running fast. We all know I love to ramble on about running, so this should be a great start to the day. Then Saturday night is another Girls Night 🙂 Sunday will be great because, well, I have my long run. My escape. AND my sister in law and niece are coming over for lunch! I’m thinking Publix subs will be on the menu. SO good.   1. I was in a SOURRRR puss mood at the beginning of the week for a couple days, and have shaken it thankfully. I just try to embrace the feelings and wait for them to pass!! Otherwise I would probably stab someone. Hahaha. I hope you feel better soon!! Sending love your way!

  2. I totally understand where you are coming from!
    My first few weeks of training for my second half I was feeling great, I was beating previous PRs (for my long distances) now…I don’t even want to run it. My calves hurt almost every single run…I have lost the joy of running (at the moment!).
