Oxford Exchange

WORKOUT Tuesday: Pilates/ Weights at home Wednesday: 6 miles @ 8:34 pace on treadmill Still not 100% in the glute department, but no pain either. So that’s good. I’m just going to keep trucking along, adding mileage and seeing how it reacts. I’ll probably add speedwork back into the mix next week or so. Fingers crossed! ****** As most of you know, I LOVE spending time with my family. During the summer, I see my parents at least twice a week. They both work for the school system and have most of the summer off. I love it! I talk […]

My Hardest Long Run Yet

WORKOUT 6 miles @ 8:35 pace on treadmill I know I said I was going to take today off, but I felt good this morning and wanted to run. My glute felt OK, but I’m not sure if it actually was OK or if the soreness from doing too many lunges in Body Pump masked the feeling. Lets go with the former. ****** Ya, you read that title right. I had my hardest long run in a while on Sunday. Was a crazy tempo or pace run? Nope. Was is a super long 22 miler? Nope. It was an “easy” […]

A Successful Weekend

WORKOUT Saturday: Body Pump I kicked my a** in Body Pump 🙂 Like the last class, I didn’t do any squats and held a plank for the entire round (about 5 1/2 min) instead. I did do lunges though and probably shouldn’t have, at least not all of them. Oh well. Now I know for next time. Sunday: 10 miles @ 8:13 pace on trail Yes yes… I did a long run today. If I’m going to training for a PR at Space Coast I have to start somewhere. Just like my 6 miler Friday, I’m hoping I’m not super […]

5 Things Friday!

WORKOUT Thursday: 2 miles @ 8:35 pace on treadmill Yay for running! After consulting my “coach”(Todd) we decided that after 2.5 weeks of rest, it was time to give running a shot again. My glute doesn’t feel too much better than it did before my rest break, but I think this might be like my knee and need more of an active recovery than just plain old rest. We’ll see. Friday: 6 miles @ 8:35 pace on treadmill I woke up this morning feeling the same as every other morning in the glute department. I was worried I was going […]

Sweat Pink Ambassador

WORKOUT Tuesday: Pilates Pilates was awesome! The class was packed, but my sister and I made sure to grab a spot right in the front 🙂 I was always a teacher’s pet in school, so why would things change now?! The instructor (my fave Mary Anne) even had me demonstrate level 3 for a planking exercise. It’s the little things that make my day, haha. Wednesday: Weights/ Abs  I am a bit of a wimp in the free weight area of the gym. I lift, but it’s not my favorite thing to do, so I rarely push myself hard enough. That’s […]

HRF Baby, Travel, and Running Update

WORKOUT Sunday: Rest Monday: Body Pump/ Body Flow I kicked my butt in Body Pump today. I added more weight than normal to really test myself. I didn’t do the squat or lunge sets, and instead planked the whole time. Not sure how long it was, but I was shaking at the end, haha. This was my first time taking Body Flow. It was a combo of Tai Chi and Yoga and was the perfect cool down/stretch sesh after BP. ****** SIIIIIIKE! That’s what we like to call a food baby here in the Winchell Household, haha. Last month I […]

Random Ramblings

WORKOUT Friday: Express Pilates/ Total Body Sculpting Saturday: Rest/ Abs I was surprisingly impressed with the express 30 minute Pilates class! There was a nice balance of ab work to stretching. In Heather talk, that means more abs than stretching, haha. Total Body Sculpting wasn’t too shabby either. I refrained from any lunges or squats, but did do the jumping jacks and step aerobics parts. I favor Body Pump over TBS but it was a nice change up. ****** This week I had the chance to catch up with my friend and Tampa Bay blogger, Mary. We have both been […]

I Thought I Was Going to Yoga

WORKOUT Wednesday: Body Pump/ Abs Thursday: Yoga? I was excited to get back to my Body Pump-ing, but told myself to take it easy. During the squat and lunge sets I didn’t use the weight bar. I felt kind of lame because usually I’m the one pushing myself, but I had to set my ego aside for the sake of my glute. I was happy to feel the burn in my biceps and triceps 🙂 Read on to hear about my yoga experience today. ****** Last week I took a full week off of all exercise activity, thanks to my […]
