Post Run Fun
6 miles @ 8:30 pace on treadmill/ Body Pump
My legs were feeling it after yesterdays LR, but loosened up nicely during this run. BP was good. I made it through the whole bicep track with out missing one rep! Woot woot! That’s been a goal of mine for a while 🙂
Happy Monday, all! I have some more fun things to share with you about my Sunday Funday… In case you missed my long run recap, you can find it HERE. During my last 2 cool down miles, I ran into Todd and we finished our runs side by side 🙂 OK, all together now… Awwww! He knew I was exhausted and did most of the talking to keep me entertained for the longest 2 mile ever, haha. He said he could hear how wet my shoes were with all the squishing, so I decided to see how much they weighed when I got home…
26.2 ounces! What what?! Perfection. THEN, I weighed them today and they were 22.1 ounces! That’s just over 4 ounces of sweat in my shoes while I run. For those of you not familiar with weight measurement equivalents, that’s 1/4 (.25) of a pound. Ridiculous.
I think I mentioned in another post that Todd will be leaving soon for Taiwan. He’ll be gone for awhile for work 🙁 Well, since he isn’t sure what he’ll be eating over there, I’ve taken it upon myself to be a good wife and make sure he gets the food he wants the next few weeks. This means a lot of Mexican and Spanish fare with some Italian and American mixed in. When I asked him what he wanted Sunday he replied with Indian. I am a big Indian food fan and hadn’t had it in a loooong time, so to Bombay Masala we went! They have a lunch buffet on Sundays for $12…
First plate was some yummy long grain white rice surrounded by, starting from the top: tikka masala, tandoori chicken, coconut curry masala, dal (yellow split peas), palak paneer (spinach and paneer cheese) and cucumber/tomato/onion salad. I was bummed they didn’t have any butter chicken. The tandoori chicken is usually my favorite, but it was pretty weak this time. The pieces were small and mostly bone.
Plate number two had more rice, tandoori chicken and cucumber salad (it’s a great palate cleanser), along with a potato and pea dosa, vegetable curry and NAAN! Delicious
buttery ghee-y naan. I didn’t get any the first go around because it didn’t look fresh enough for my liking. My back was to the buffet so I made sure Todd kept an eye out for when they replenished it 🙂 I love me some fresh bread! The dosa was very yummy, as was the veggie curry, but the naan took the cake, err, bread, haha.
Plate three was just to top off the tank! Hey… I was hungry. More delicious naan, palak paneer and finally a decent piece of tandoori chicken. I could have eaten more, but didn’t want to over indulge. I really am a bottomless pit! Overall, lunch was pretty good. Everything was fresh for a buffet. but I wasn’t overly impressed by anything. I did have fun swinging in the swing while Todd paid though 🙂
