A Day in the Life
Tuesday: 6 miles @ 8:26 pace on treadmill/ Pilates
Pilates was, really good. Mary Anne (my fave instructor) mixed things up a bit this class and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My run was blah. My legs were still a bit sore from Sunday’s LR.
This was a tough one.
I decided to join my SPA (Sweat Pink Ambassador) sisters for a blog link up held by Jill and Angela. So here ya go, a day in the life of me 🙂 This actually isn’t a typical day, but it IS a typical Wednesday. Now that I’m back into full marathon training mode, Wednesday’s are my midweek speedwork days. Since the weather here is still horribly hot and humid, I am doing these workouts on the treadmill so I can actually hit my paces.
I woke up this morning around 6:45, had a cup of coffee (in my Boston Marathon mug for motivation) and bowl of oatmeal, followed by a handful of chocolate chips. My theory is that the sugar helps me run faster, haha. I blogged and got some work done on the computer before heading out to take Ry girl for a walk and loosen up my legs.
When I got home, I set up the treadmill with my workout… I don’t know about you, but when I’m in the middle of a speed workout on the treadmill, I can’t easily do the math in my head so I write it out. This makes it a no brainer…
The pictures of Kara are a staple on the tready. They help motivate and push me… so does a fierce outfit. I know that no one will see me doing this run, but something about wearing a fierce looking outfit just pumps me up! In case you haven’t heard… I have a thing for being FIERCE 🙂
Sometimes it’s a pink theme, sometimes green, but it’s ALWAYS bright! I also have a thing for obnoxious/neon color combos. Today I went with the orange/red/yellow look. I did a dynamic warm up of leg swings, skipping, high knees, etc then jumped on the treadmill. The first 4 tempos were a piece of cake (mmm cake). The 2 middle easy miles weren’t too bad either. The last 3 tempos… ehhh, they were more difficult. The 3rd tempo was definitely tough and my legs were ready to be done. I MIGHT have been able to do one more had my plan called for it, but I was glad it didn’t!
You know your run is too long when the movie your watching finished before you do, haha. It was an hour and 44 minutes and I still had a mile left. I was not about to watch the credits for 8 minutes so I grabbed the remote and switched it back to TV mode. After my cool down, I stretched while dipping apple slices in chocolate protein powder and drinking water. I hoped in the shower and was off to meet Todd for lunch. We had sushi! No surprise there 🙂
This was my plate, with a few pieces already missing. Opps! I had my fave bagel roll, spicy tuna and spicy salmon. I traded Todd a few tuna avocado for a few spicy tuna. We like to share. I was starving by this time and had no problem polishing them all off. From there I met up with Melissa for a DLites date 🙂
They had PUMPKIN CUSTARD! I love this time of year. I got the pumpkin, chocolate and cake batter. Yummo! On my way home I stopped by Publix to pick up stuff for dinner. I swear I’m at Publix at LEAST every other day. They know me there and I’m OK with that. Todd came home from work and ran a quick 4 miles before sitting down to dinner…
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, this is certainly not a normal day… it makes it seem like all I do is eat a boat load of food and run, haha, but it is how my Wednesdays go for now. The rest of the night we’ll hang out on the couch, watch re-runs of The Big Bang Theory and a DVRed Kelly & Micheal. I’ll probably ask for a calf massage which will lead to a full body massage. Todd knows the way to my heart <3 So that’s it… a day in the life of HRF. Getting faster, one day at a time!
What did you do today?
Do you like pumpkin ice cream/ froyo?
