My Poor Toe, Lucky Riley, Flatbread, Chocolate

WORKOUT

Wednesday: 2 warm up + (6 x 1200s @ 6:44 w/ .25 rest) + 2 cool down on treadmill

Recap Below.

Thursday: 6 miles @ 8:20 on treadmill/ Body Pump

******

I was 50/50 on whether or not to do this run on the treadmill or test myself and try it outside. The deciding factor was Riley. I was meeting my cousin and her new baby up for lunch and knew I wouldn’t have time to run AND get Ry out for a decent walk, so I figured, why not take her for a run during my cool down?! It worked out perfectly. I nailed my run and wasn’t even that fatigued after the last 1200 meters (that’s .75 miles), so running her wasn’t a big deal. When we got back, the lucky lady got a doggy ice cream… (notice the box 🙂 )

IMAG1295And I got a bloody sock and blister type thing…

IMAG1296Yes. I have crazy veins. I have them on my feet, on my hands and arms- they are everywhere! So I got this little blister on my toe after my 22 miler Sunday and thought nothing of it. It bothered me a bit during my run Monday, but nothing to be concerned about. Looks like I need to be more proactive on helping this little guy recover before my pace run Sunday!

I met my cousin Kim up for lunch at The Oxford Exchange. It was the first time I’ve seen Jackson since visiting him the day he was born in the hospital. He is adorbs! Guiliana Rancic fans anyone?

IMG_0274He’ll be 7 weeks on Friday and is still so little! My mom, sister and I came here for tea/coffee a while back (read about it HERE) but this was my first time eating there. It’s a bit on the pricey side if you ask me, but yummy none the less. I opted for the shitaki mushroom, roasted red pepper, goat cheese and thyme flatbread…

IMAG1297They were not lying when they say flatbread. It was super duper thin… while it was certainly delish, it would have been even better on a crust that was a bit more substantial. ANd what day wouldn’t be complete without a touch of sweetness? Since it’s my birthday month, I had a $10 credit at Godiva, so I went in to get my goods and walk out with a free sample and these chocolates…

IMAG1298See that egg looking thing in the middle. Yup. That’s a homemade dark chocolate peanut butter cup. They even use all natural PB. Score. The guy said the SF tastes just like the regular and indeed it did! Oh and for my free chocolate of the month I got the Grand Marnier Truffle, but I actually got that last week with Melissa… it was VERY good! I love when the centers are ooey gooey.

IMAG1288I’d say I had a pretty successful Wednesday. Thursday wasn’t too shabby either!

Any new baby’s in your family?

Does this post make you want to eat some chocolate?

  1. First off, yes, I’m now going to have to venture out to find chocolate! 🙂 I have a difficult time taking proper care of those pesky little blisters, too. I often forget about them until I’m well into my runs and they have gotten much worse. By then, it’s all but too late!

The other reason I’m commenting is to let you know I nominated you for a Liebster Award as one of my favorite bloggers. I know I don’t comment too often but I am always excited to see new posts from a fellow runner :). Have a great weekend!
