Rooooaarr, 43 seconds, November 3rd

WORKOUT Saturday: 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on treadmill/ Body Pump My legs felt surprisingly fresh on this run. BP was great. I added more weight to my clean and press, so that always feels good 🙂 Sunday: 22 miles @ 7:51 pace on trail Recap Below. ****** Let me just start of by saying that my “pump me up” theme song for this marathon (Space Coast- Dec 1) is Katy Perry’s “ROAR.” In case you live under a rock or just want to jam out, here’s the video: You know why I love this song? Because I AM A […]

New Shoes and a New Toy for Ry

WORKOUT Thursday: 6 miles @ 8:25 pace on treadmill/ Body Pump A nice shake out run from Wednesday’s 16 mile speed work. Everything was a little sore, but felt good after a mile or so, as usual. BP was a tad harder than normal since I hadn’t been to class in almost a week because of work. Felt good. Friday: 10 miles @ 8:04 pace on trail Recap below. ****** Fall is FINALLY hitting Tampa Bay… for now at least. This weeks low temperatures have been around 68 and the humidity in the morning is down to 80%. Nice. It’s […]

I’ve Started a New Habit

WORKOUT Tuesday: 6 miles @ 8:26 pace on treadmill Wednesday: Recap Below. ****** I keep hitting my paces and I’m loving it! I wasn’t as nervous about this run as I normally am. I knew it would be tough, but nothing I couldn’t handle. To be honest, the worst part was the last 6 miles. These miles are meant to test your legs when they are already glycogen depleted. I probably could have and should have done all 8 reps at 6:44, but I wanted to make sure I could complete the workout, so I started out conservatively. I nailed […]

As Promised…

WORKOUT Monday: 4 miles @ 8:26 pace on treadmill/ abs Everything felt a-okay. My glute even felt “better” (knock on wood) which is surprise, as Sunday’s 20 miler was quite the workout. ****** As promised in Sunday’s post, here is what all that vanilla is being used for… Christmas gifts! No, no, no… I am NOT rushing Halloween or Thanksgiving (my fave Holiday, other than my anniversary<3) My mom and I are making and giving homemade vanilla extract for Christmas presents this year, but it takes a few months to really become good quality, so we started Sunday 🙂 First, […]

Half and Half

WORKOUT Saturday: 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on treadmill/ abs video x 2 Sunday: Recap Below. ****** I decided to try something new during this run and do half outside and half on the treadmill. I know I need miles on my feet outside and to be able to push myself through tough workouts, but at the same time, I also want the confidence of hitting my paces. Per Todd’s suggestion, I planned to do the first set of speed outside and the second set on the treadmill. Before I let for my run, I set up everything in our […]

Smoking is Gross, $3.19, Buddha’s Herbs

WORKOUT Thursday: 6 miles @ 8:24 pace on treadmill/ Body Pump Friday: 10 miles @ 8:06 pace on trail Recap below. ****** My glute was feeling better than expected after my speedwork Wednesday and it showed on my run this morning. My medium long run paces have been around 8:20-30 the past few weeks and I’ve been kind of down about it. I know the weather here is still hot and humid but I’m just not used to my easier runs being at that pace. As I’ve mentioned before, I don’t look at my pace during these runs… they are […]

WIAW: Husband Edition

WORKOUT Tuesday: 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on Treadmill/ Pilates Both were good. Wednesday: 2 easy + 3 @ 6:50 + 2 easy + 3 @ 6:44 + 2 easy= 12 miles on treadmill I felt strong this entire run. I was supposed to do 2- 3 mile tempos at 6:50, but I knew I had more in me and did the last 3 faster. I kind of wish I would’ve done the first one at 6:44, too… next time. I KNOW I wouldn’t have been able to hit these paces outside with the weather, but being able to on […]
