Spartan Race Giveaway!

Monday: 8 miles @ 8:10 pace on trail

Tuesday: Pilates/ Cardio Sculpt

I was happy to get out on the trail again. The weather has been gross in the mornings, with tons of fog and only getting down to 70ish degrees. Monday was a bit better, so I ventured out. As usual, I started out slow- slower than I expected, around a 9:00 pace for the first half mile, but got in my groove and loosened up. Other than my initial pace, I tried not to look at my watch and just run by feel. I was happy to see the 8:10 when I finished 🙂 I’ve still got a little of that quickness in me, haha.

After being in Miami for two straight weekends, I can’t get over what a fun place it is to race. I browsed through different race calenders, checking out other events in the area and came across a Spartan Race.

I’ve heard of these before, but have never run one before and wasn’t sure what they are all about. Of COURSE I had to check it out, you know I’m a sucker for anything that includes running! Here’s what I learned from their website…

Spartan Race is on a mission to get you active, healthy, excited about change, and return to our ancient roots where running through woods, getting dirty, and facing adversity was part of everyday life. Our events are all about challenging today’s perception of normal.

Our events challenge the familiar, today’s perception of normal living and getting you out of your comfort zone! At Spartan Race, we do this everyday and it shapes everything we do.

Having experienced many different racing events, we wanted to make adventure racing more accessible to everyone, but do not be fooled by the word ‘accessible’, as our events have a challenge for everyone’s needs.

Spartan Race now introduces a level for everyone beginning with the entry level Spartan Sprint, intermediate level Super Spartan, the advanced Spartan Beast, and the ‘99.9% need not apply’ extreme level Death Race.

Whatever your level, Spartan Race will test your strength, stamina, and sense of humor.

I love their promotional quotes… SO fitting, for my work hard, play hard, like a boss mentality 🙂

Right?! Super motivating. OK, so now you’re saying, Heather, where are you going with this? Welllll… the Miami Spartan Super at Oleta River State Park on April 12th & 13th is going to be awesome! BUT, since I know a lot of you don’t live in the good ole Sunshine State, I have a FREE entry to ANY of the Spartan Races! Although, I think it would be a perfect excuse get away for all of you still experiencing winter to head down to Miami! In case you don’t win, you can get a discount HERE! Click the Rafflecopter link below to enter 🙂

  1. I’ve done a spartan race before in Chicago and it was such an amazing experience. The overall toughness of it was so much fun but my legs were killing me the next day after all the hills we had to climb.
