Thirty Years

My Parents 30th Wedding Anniversary was yesterday and I SO wanted to post this then, but since my dad had a few surprises up his sleeve, I wanted to wait until after to write about it all On Sunday, Kristin (my sister) and I made dinner for them and we had a nice evening as a family. We actually got a turkey and rack of ribs smoked by Alex’s, a local BBQ place. You can bring them any piece of meat and they’ll smoke it for $1.25/lb. The ribs turned out awesome- and I’m not really a rub person- as […]

Easter Happenings

So obviously this is a little late… BUT I still wanted to share with you how we celebrated Easter this year We started off by going to my parents house Saturday afternoon for an Easter Egg Hunt. Who’s doing the hunting you may ask? Our DOG-ters of course! We put dog treats inside some colorful plastic eggs and “hid” them in the back yard. Before letting them out, I let the dogs smell the treats before opening the back door…   Some were more hidden than others, haha. Maddie collected all of hers in one area, where as Riley just […]

I was going to post my Easter Festivities today but that has wait. If this post seems all over the place and there are a lot of errors it’s because I’m so pissed and I just need to write about it and post it ASAP. So my morning started out great… I got my period! If this mean nothing to you, you can find out why it means a lot to me HERE. (This means I need a period cake, haha) ANYWAYS. I took Riley for a nice walk in Carrollwood… she loves hunting in the bushes! I always listen to the […]

Ooohhh, Say Can You See, By the Dawn’s Early Light

Yaaaaa, that’s right…. The Star Spangled Banner is the anthem we were listening to at this years Boston Marathon! Meb Keflezighi finally broke the 31 year drought of American winners at Boston and I don’t think people could have been more excited! If you missed the race, the ending was a nail bitter and I was sitting on the edge of the couch watching Meb crank out the miles. Yes. Yes. And Yes. What a great moment. If only Shalane could have pulled out a win, too. Poor girl. Lead the race the almost the entire time and then just faded. […]

Sand Castles and Soccer Games

I am Boston Strong! I can’t believe its already been a year. I ran in a memorial run last year and REALLY wanted to again this year, but obviously I’m not supposed to. I can still remember those affected either way, so that’s what I did. I’ve read a ton of articles on the survivors and their awesome stories. This years race is going to be epic! You can read about my race and experiences in Boston last year in the following posts: Expo, Elite Runners I met, The Race, the bombing, Being a tourist Part 1 and Part 2. What’s the […]

My Oatmeal Creations is a website where you can literally create whatever kind of oatmeal tickles your fancy using their “Custom Oatmeal” tab or choose from any number of premade mixes, like PB&J Cupcake or Ginger Cookie. They also have a HUGE array of flavorings that really make building your own blend fun. Another product they have is PB Lean- dehydrated peanut butter that has 85% less fat- that you can also […]

The Boston Marathon is Next Monday!!! (4/21)

Every year on Boston Marathon Monday Todd goes into work late and we stream the race live- well, every year but last year because I ran it It’s a fun tradition that I look forward to. I love reading articles and watching videos of the athletes leading up to race day on how they prepared. It’s a little bittersweet this year, as I always use Boston to pump me up for training through the FL summer for a fall marathon… Not so much this year. Following these elites just gets me so excited about running! This year, we have two […]
