National Running Day a Day Late

Ya ya. I know. National Running Day was June 4th. Better late than never right? It’s not like I actually got to run… waaaa waaa <- pity party much?! Instead, I wore a running shirt and drank some wine. Not too shabby, although I’d trade the wine for a run any day!

Last year, I made an “I Run…” badge so I thought I should again…

i run for

While I certainly miss the endorphin rush that running gives me, I also miss the amount of food I was able to eat, haha. There was nothing better than coming home from a super hard run and indulging in a delicious piece of chocolate cake with A LOT of frosting like I did HERE 🙂 Ahhh I miss those days.

The other day when my dad and I were talking with a friend of mine about runing, he said something that really made my heart melt… he said that my “inability” to run was worth it so that he could become a grandpa. I didn’t say anything at the moment, but that comment, in public, to an almost stranger (at least to him, the girl was my friend) really meant a lot to me 🙂 Thanks daddio!

  1. Awwww, chocolate & frosting!!! YUUUM!!! You just made me hungry!! Hehe!! I hope you are doing okay!!! I love reading your posts!! XOXO!!

  2. Your dad’s comment was so sweet! In those moments I’m sure the sacrifices seem worth it.

I ran yesterday and saw two random ladies in my neighborhood running and one of them smiled and yelled “happy running day!” I swear, runners are the NICEST group of people ever!

    • Yes, I added his comment to the arsenal of positive things to remind myself when I get down.

Runners are SO nice! Glad they knew about NRD! Sometimes I forget that I live in a “running world” and not everyone knows these things. I would’ve been stoked if someone yelled that out! Hope you had a great run 🙂

  3. I should have more chocolate in my life! I did run on NRD, but unfortunately it was just one single mile. Hey, something is better than me sitting around and not doing anything! 🙂
