WIAW: What I Ate Wednesday


Monday: Body Pump/ 30 minutes on stationary bike

Tuesday: 4 miles @ 8:35 pace on treadmill/ Pilates

Wednesday: 4 miles @ 9:30 pace outside


A lot of my fellow bloggers participate in a blog link up called What I Ate Wednesday (WIAW) which showcase what one eats in a day. It’s not always one full day of eats and it’s usually not Wednesday’s eats, it’s just posted on Wednesday. Sometimes it’s the persons favorite snacks, or lunches from the past week , or just delicious foods they’ve been enjoying. It’s really anything the blogger wants it to be. Lets take a look at my Monday’s eats…

6:45 AM Wake up. I had a cup of coffee, an egg and a bowl of oatmeal (rolled oats, cinnamon, fresh nutmeg, vanilla, water) before heading to Body Pump at the Y from 8-9 AM. Fun fact: I stole that mug from my parents house when I moved out years ago. It reminds my of my childhood and that always makes me happy 🙂


9:15 AM After BP I always like to have a protein shake and since I was meeting Melissa at 9:30 at Starbucks (within walking distance from the Y) I made a shake the night before and left it in my car during the class to defrost a bit and ate that while waiting for Melissa. In my shake is a scoop of chocolate protein powder, spoonful of special dark cocoa powder, handful of spinach, a few drops of mint extract, ice and almond milk. Chocolate minty goodness.


9:30 AM I ordered My high maintenance Komodo Dragon cold brewed iced coffee with whole milk. Melissa had a regular iced coffee with cream. We chatted for a little over an hour. I treasure my time with her, as she is super duper busy and works odd hours, so our hangout dates aren’t very often.


After coffee, I went to Publix and grabbed some necessities. Once home, I put the groceries away and started a load of laundry.

11:30 AM I started getting hungry, so I grabbed a snack. Pistachios and a plum.


I still wanted to eat more- I’m such a grazer- so I grabbed a small handful of M&Ms (Seminole colors for Ashley) and roasted spaghetti squash seeds 🙂


Once my belly was content, I took Riley for a quick walk before jumping on our stationary bike for a 30 minute “ride.” Oh, I put the laundry into the dryer before biking. I know you were worried about that.


Like that set up? I’ve got the fan blowing on me, my laptop for entertainment and the Food Network on for white noise/food inspiration. After my bike, I showered and whipped together a quick lunch, which will also act as dinner for Todd on a night I’m working.

1:30 AM Yellow rice and ground beef with a side of brussel sprouts and a Justin’s Dark Chocolate PB Cup for dessert 🙂


Then came time to take Riley to the vet. More on this in another post


4:30 PM Get home from the vet and have a small bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats. I have a hard time keeping my cereal portions in check, so thankfully, Todd was home and able to rein in my second (and probably third) bowls I would’ve had on my own, haha. Then I put the laundry through Tumble/Press Cycle and folded it.


6:30PM Tacos and salad for dinner. Sorry. No pic of the salad, but you know what lettuce and dressing looks like.


8:30 PM And of course an almond butter shot for dessert 🙂


So there ya go. That was my Monday. Not too shabby if you ask me. There were a couple of unpictured eats, like the bite of the sandwich I made for Todd’s lunch the next day. Yes. I send him to work with a bite out of his sammie… I just blame it on Riley 🙂 And then spoonfuls of peanut butter and jelly consumed while making his pb&j. Yes, again, I make Todd’s lunch the day before like he’s a school student. It’s the least I can do for him being such a wonderful husband!

  1. Awww!! I’m sure that your husband appreciates you making his lunch the night before!! That’s so cute!! I love it!! Also, what yummy eats. I love organic peanut butter cups!! Yummy! I also really love tacos for dinner! They’re so fun to make, too because you can get really creative with them!! Nice shot, too! Delicious! XOXO!!

    • Tacos really are such a fun dinner. I love a make your own topping bars kind thing.
      Wonder what my doc would say if I told him I took a shot every night, haha 😉

  2. I LOVE WIAW but I’ve never participated because I eat the same things every single day and it’s entirely too boring and embarrassing to post for the world to see!

    • I pretty much eat the same thing everyday, too. I wasn’t working this Monday because I had to take Riley to the vet, so it was more interesting, haha.

  3. I don’t participate in WIAW, but I love looking at what other like to eat!! I love your “high maintenance” Starbucks order. I wish I liked iced coffee, but I’m not really a fan. I love Komodo hot though! I’ll still need to give it a try iced.

    • I like looking at people’s eats, too, but wanted to give it a go. Why don’t you like iced coffee? Because it gets watered down a bit? You should just make a tall Komodo Iced to try it 😉

  4. Loved it!!! You can do another What I ate Wednesday blog! The spinach in the smoothie grosses me out. Just don’t love spinach in my smoothies! I love spinach salads, love spinach with pasta but not in liquid form!
