WIAW: A Day Off of Work

Monday: 4 miles @ 8:45 pace on treadmill/ Body Pump

Tuesday: 4 miles @ 8:15 pace on treadmill/ Pilates

Wednesday: 4 miles @ 8:30 pace on treadmill

Today’s eats are from last Thursday. Thursday’s are probably one of my favorite days, because I get to a) run with my girlfriend Kristen and b) take Body Pump with my favorite instructor. The icing on the cake this particular Thursday was that I had the day off, so I also got to have some good eats and enjoy a nice dinner with Todd! Thanks to Jenn for the food party!

5:25 AM: Wake up, drink a cup of water and eat half a banana. Then drive to Kristen’s neighborhood to run 4 miles in the dark and hopefully not fall.

7 AM: Drink Nuun on the drive home. Get home and grab a few frozen grapes to cool off… it’s still 75 degrees and humid here in FL. Stretch on the floor with Ry girl and drink an iced coffee. I always make extra coffee and put it in a glass in the fridge so that I can have cold coffee after running.

7:30 AM: Rinse off in the shower.

7:45/8 AM: Pumpkin Oatmeal! It’s back in full force people. I do 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup almond milk, shake of pumpkin pie spice, squirt of vanilla and 1/4 cup pumpkin puree. I like the old fashion oats, so I mix all that together and then microwave it for 5 minutes at 50% power. That way I don’t have to worry about watching (or cleaning) a boiling pot. Alongside that I had 2 dippy eggs to get some protein in. And of course a few cups of hot coffee.

10:30-11:30 AM: Body Pump at the Y with my fave instructor. She’s loud and spunky and pushes you to do your best… unless you’re me and are not supposed to push yourself, in which she makes sure you’re doing just enough 🙂

12 PM: Get home and make a protein shake. Poor Riley still couldn’t go for a walk last Thursday, so we stuck with trying to catch lizards in the back yard. She loves it when I sit out there with her. In my shake is a scoop full of vanilla protein powder, heaping spoonful of PB2, shake of stevia, large handful of baby spinach, ice and almond milk. Peanut butter bliss without the calories. We all know I save the healthy fats for my shot glass.

Shake Outside

12:45 PM: Finally take a full shower- wash my hair, shave, you know… all the hygienic stuff, not just a rinse.

1 PM: More pumpkin! I’ve got some good Trader Joe’s stuff coming at you guys soon. I’ll kick it off with their Honey Roasted Pumpkin Ravioli. SO GOOD. It’s slightly sweet, but only an itty bitty baby amount. It wasn’t super cheesy, but did have a nice hint of ricotta. It was perfect. Even better than Bonefish Grill’s from last year. I love the bright colors, too. I had to have some greens, so I paired it with brussel sprouts roasted with TJ’s South African Smoke Seasoning Blend <- I’m obsessed!

6:15 PM: Todd grilled us some burgers (we use lean 93/7 ground beef), green pepper/onion/mushroom kabobs and potato wedges to share. I also had some sauteed zucchini and squash, while he had baked beans. I used Trader Joe’s sandwich thins for my bun and I’ve got to say, this is the first product of theirs that I’m not a huge fan of 🙁 They were kind of stiff and almost old-like. I’ll stick to my Arnold brand ones from here on out.

8:30 PM: The obligatory shot of almond/cashew butter for dessert. (Yes this is a recycled picture.)

  1. Okay I can see pumpkin oatmeal but ravioli’s are you kidding me hahaha lol 🙂 I finally had the Chaboni pumpkin and spice Greek yogurt yesterday. It was pretty good

    • The raviolis are really good! Juuuust try them. Think about savory sweet potato things… same thing. I still need to try the greek yogurt. I usually don’t buy greek yogurt with lots of sugar, but I just might have to since it’s pumpkin 😉

    • Hope your pumpkin oatmeal was delish 🙂 The ravioli IS amazing! Definitely go back and get some! It’s not overly spiced or cheesy or savory or sweet, It’s the perfect combo

  2. Pumpkin oatmeal!! Ohhh yes!! Sounds fabulous!! Also, really love grapes and Nuun!! You’re so awesome!! I always love your eats!! Delicious!! XOXO!!

  3. We just tried the TJ’s Pumpkin Ravioli! It’s amazing! I cooked it up with some of their Chicken Apple Sausage and we didn’t even need sauce!

    • I didn’t use a sauce either. It would be good with a simply butter sauce, but I like your idea of adding the chicken apple sausage, that’s the PREFECT compliment! Good thinking 🙂

    • It makes it taste like 75% real PB, haha. If it can be that. Without the fat there’s a little bit of taste lacking, but I still really enjoy it!

  4. I bought some pumpkin chips at Costco yesterday, they are seasonal and I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. I also love running in the dark..I’ve only really done it a handful of times, but it’s invigorating.
