WIAW: Just When I Thought it was Over
Welcome to another edition of What I Ate Wednesday! Brought to you by Jenn at Peas and Crayons. Here is my Monday in meals…
6:45 AM= Spoonful of another yummy batch of homemade almond butter. Yes, I
licked scraped the bowl clean when I made it on Sunday 🙂
7:30 AM= First cup of coffee of the morning… followed by half my bottle of water of course 😉
8:00 AM= 2% Fage plain Greek yogurt. Easy, filling and portable.
9:00 AM= Zoatmeal: 1/2 cup old fashion oats, 1 cup almond milk, about 1/3 cup grated zucchini with vanilla, fresh ground nutmeg and cinnamon microwaved for 5 minutes at 50%power. Fresh nutmeg makes all the difference!
12:30 PM= Lunch time! I had a leftover Publix Premium Apple and Gouda Chicken Sausage in a hoagie roll, also from Publix (their deli has some awesome bread). I didn’t take a picture of the package, so the below pic is the best I could find on Google images :/ See that chunk of white? No, that’s not a chunk of fat, it’s a chunk of apple! And the cheese oozed out in some bites. I really liked these and will definitely get them again! Had to get in some green, so I steamed some kale and drizzled it with apple cider vinegar.
I also had some tarp time with Riley 🙂
3:30 PM= An orange and some multi colored peppers for a snack.
4:45 PM= Run 4 miles on the treadmill because it was hot and rainy out. Plus, we just got a Google Chrome Cast and I was testing it out in the gym. No more commercials. Yay!
6:30 PM= Dinner at my parents. A few months back, we switched to basic cable and don’t get ESPN anymore. Well, Monday night was the College Football Championship so we went to my parents to watch it. We had fajitas and black bean salad for for dinner, but I had my fajitas as a salad and you’ll see why next…
8:30 PM= Yes. You are seeing that correctly. Another freakin cake! Todd is leaving again soon and my parents (mom) wanted to send him off with his favorite foods (hence the fajitas for dinner). My dad and Todd played racquetball on Saturday and my dad asked Todd what kind of cake he want and Todd joked, “don’t make another cake… but if I had to choose German Chocolate.” Welllll, my mom being the amazing mom she is, made just that.
Isn’t it beautiful! It was just as delicious as it looks! Just when I thought the season of cakes was over, I’m proven wrong. That’s OK though… I never say no to cake 🙂
And the rest of the evening we watched the game and cuddled with the dogs <3
Maddie says, “Don’t you dare get up for another piece of cake!”
So there you have it. My Monday in eats and dog time, haha.
