That’s right my friends… I brought back the “Workouts” section, for this week and this week only, to celebrate HRF’s 2 year anniversary! I can’t believe it’s been two years. I also can’t believe I’m still not pregnant and haven’t broken the 3:10 marathon time, but hey, you can’t have everything right?! Check out my first post HERE. I really should do a recap post of the past two years, but to be honest, I don’t even know where to start with that.
Back to the workouts… with the Gasparilla 15k coming up this Saturday, February 21, I decided a few speed sessions were in order. Will they do anything to make me faster? Most likely not. But they DO give me more confidence and lets be honest, I LOVE pushing myself. I was surprised at how easy these paces were after almost a year of no speed work. Sure I’ve randomly done like 3 workouts, but ever since this baby making went from normal coitus (oh Sheldon) to seeing a specialist, pushing myself running wise has been nonexistent.
It. Felt. Awesome. Guys and Gals, I miss it so much! I know everyone says I’ll be able to train again before I know it, but honestly, that’s not true. It will be AT LEAST a year before I can train again. UGH this is not the direction I wanted this post to go, so let’s stick with the positives from this weekend…
I started my Valentines day with a sweaty Body Pump class AND a Yoga session- of which I stayed the whole time, thank you very much! Then I went over to my parents for some cookies! Kristin made Heart cookies for Rich (and my dad) for Valentines day and I wanted one 🙂
On Sunday, I had another amazing run with Stephanie…
She had a 2.5 hr long run on her schedule, so I joined her for the last hour and a half. The weather was PERFECT. Started chilly, but was sunny and warmed up nicely. I sweat more than I thought I would. You know the right choice in Nuun flavor is the one that matches your obnoxiously bright outfit 😉
The afternoon was just as tasty as my morning run was amazing…
Sorry for the crazy randomness of this post. It kind of turned from fun to serious to fun again. I hope you enjoyed my first and last workouts section for a while, haha. It was super fun doing those runs, let me tell you! OH! Guess who just started Instagram?! THIS GIRL. You can follow me at HeatherRunsFast. So far I’ve only posted one picture. I’ll get the hang of it and hopefully be more active.
HAPPY VALENTINES WEEKEND!
