I Tried It Tuesday
I’m linking up for Tried it Tuesday and Treat Yourself Tuesday. I’m pretty excited that it’s Tuesday, because we’re only 2 days away from my 20 week anatomy scan and supposedly it’s one of the more fun appointments 🙂 I’ll be sure to keep you guys in the loop.
I tried my hand at some protein pancakes. They turned out okay, but I won’t be making them again. They’re protein powder, Pumpkin and egg whites.
I tried my Snoogle the other night. I’ve read a lot of good things about this pillow and while my sleep hasn’t been horrible, it hasn’t been the best. Not gonna lie, it seems like it should be simple, but I can’t figure it out. So far, it isn’t helping me sleep at all. I tried asking Dr. Google and it didn’t help much. Looks like I’ll need an in person lesson from a friend (that’s you Pam).
I tried a Peanut Butter & Jelly Quest Bar: I’ve been trying to keep a healthy stash of snack at my desk so I can avoid the candy drawer. Sometimes the Quest bars leave my tummy a little wonky, so I’ll eat half a bar at a time and save the rest for a few hours later. I usually stick to the cookie dough, mint chip and white chocolate raspberry, but I branched out a bought a ton of new flavors that I’m excited to try. PB&J was a winner!
The lemon pie however… HORRIBLE. Tasted like Lemon Pledge. Needless to say I didn’t eat all of it. And I ALWAYS finish my food (and everyone else’s around me ;)… that’s when you know it’s really not good.
I tried my Gabrialla running belt and I’m glad I bought one! I started using this around week 18. Remember, my belly is a bit bigger than the average person because of the left over fluid from OHSS. I read that the belt can chafe bare skin, so I’ve been wearing a tank top to prevent that. Well, halfway wearing a tank top, haha. It’s usually pretty hot in our treadmill room (despite having a fan and portable AC blowing on me) because of the huge window and blazing heat/sun. Always good to have Nuun in the cup to keep mom and baby #healthyandhydrated!
I tried my first smoked turkey! It was AHHHHHH-mazing! Seriously, so good. Friends of ours have a big green egg and smoked it in that. I can still smell and taste is now. We also had salad, green beans roasted in coconut oil and a portobello/asiago cheese scalloped potato dish. Yum!
And on this Fine Tuesday, I’m treating myself to a decaf Nespresso espresso and a bite of a cupcake after lunch. Still working on keeping the sugar low, but deprivation leads to over indulgence, so a little bite won’t hurt 😉
