Milanos, Coffee, Sleep, Sample, Grandparents Day
Pumpkin Spice Milano Cookies. I saw these at Publix and they were BOGO, so I KNEW I had to get them after seeing them on the pumpkin list. I give them a thumbs up! Nice mix of pumpkin and chocolate and Milano goodness. They went perfect with my decaf coffee Sunday 🙂
Decaf Coffee at Home. Since starting the IUI process and even after getting pregnant, I haven’t made even one pot of coffee at home. Coffee wasn’t appealing AT ALL during my first trimester, but I started drinking decaf a bit in my 2nd tri. Sunday was rainy and dreary (one reason I was able to sleep so late- you’ll see below) and it jsut felt like a coffee kind of morning. Wanted to get our travel magnet mania in there for ya. Both post cards are from when Todd was traveling (Taiwan and Isreal) and can’t forget about Ragnar!
Weekend Sleep is Awesome. After my horrible night sleep on Thursday, I’ve killed it in the sleep department this weekend. I always get better sleep on the weekends. You can see Sat/Sun are over 8 hrs and the other days, not so much. Guess I should enjoy that while I can 😉
PS Edited to add: After Sunday nights sleep, I pretty much negated any gains from the weekend, haha. Last nights sleep was worse than my “horrible” Thursday last week.
Impressive Publix Sample. Just like the yummy sample I got at Publix last week, I got a bomb diggity sub sample yesterday. It was a nice chunk of a specialty sub that had avocado, mango salsa, chipotle cheddar cheese, turkey, lettuce and plantain chips. It was a good combo!
National Grandparents Day. This is a two part-er. My mom and I went to my grandma’s and took her some throw back snacks. We use to always have homemade olive and cream cheese spread and pimento cheese with my grandma and great great aunt Alese and we want to do something small but special to celebrate. (Please forgive my hot-mess hair and lack of makeup… just keepin it real people.)
Part two continued at my parents house since they are grandparents-to-be 🙂 We just had Sunday dinner and spent time together talking about the baby, the shower, the nursery, etc. It was a good night, as usual. For dinner we had steak with mushrooms, salad, and roasted potatoes. Dinner of champions.
What’s a throw back food that reminds you of your grandparents?
And I think I asked this before, but are all the links annoying? I just know that when I read a persons blog for the first time it’s fun to get the back story- kind of like I was a “long time reader.” Be honest. I can stop 🙂 Happy Monday!
