Milanos, Coffee, Sleep, Sample, Grandparents Day

Pumpkin Spice Milano Cookies. I saw these at Publix and they were BOGO, so I KNEW I had to get them after seeing them on the pumpkin list. I give them a thumbs up! Nice mix of pumpkin and chocolate and Milano goodness. They went perfect with my decaf coffee Sunday ๐Ÿ™‚ ย Pumpkin Spice Milano Cookies

Decaf Coffee at Home.ย Since starting the IUI processย and even after getting pregnant, I haven’t made even one pot of coffee at home. Coffee wasn’t appealing AT ALL during my first trimester, but I started drinking decaf a bit in my 2nd tri. Sunday was rainy and dreary (one reason I was able to sleep so late- you’ll see below) and it jsut felt like a coffee kind of morning. Wanted to get our travel magnet maniaย in there for ya. Both post cards are from when Todd was traveling (Taiwan and Isreal) and can’t forget about Ragnar!

Weekend Sleep is Awesome.ย After my horrible night sleep on Thursday, I’ve killed it in the sleep department this weekend. I always get better sleep on the weekends. You can see Sat/Sun are over 8 hrs and the other days, not so much. Guess I should enjoy that while I can ๐Ÿ˜‰

PS Edited to add: After Sunday nights sleep, I pretty much negated any gains from the weekend, haha. Last nights sleep was worse than my “horrible” Thursday last week.

Impressive Publix Sample.ย Just like the yummy sample I got at Publix last week, I got a bomb diggity sub sample yesterday. It was a nice chunk of a specialty sub that had avocado, mango salsa, chipotle cheddar cheese, turkey, lettuce and plantain chips. It was a good combo!

National Grandparents Day.ย This is a two part-er.ย My mom and I went to my grandma’s and took her some throw back snacks. We use to always have homemade olive and cream cheese spread and pimento cheese with my grandma and great great aunt Alese and we want to do something small but special to celebrate. (Please forgive my hot-mess hair and lack of makeup… just keepin it real people.)

Part two continued at my parents house since they are grandparents-to-be ๐Ÿ™‚ We just had Sunday dinner and spent time together talking about the baby, the shower, the nursery, etc. It was a good night, as usual. For dinner we had steak with mushrooms, salad, and roasted potatoes. Dinner of champions.

And that’s a wrap for everything Marvelous in My Monday with my Weekend Snapshot and my Weekly Wrap Up.

What’s a throw back food that reminds you of your grandparents?

And I think I asked this before, but are all the links annoying? I just know that when I read a persons blog for the first time it’s fun to get the back story- kind of like I was a “long time reader.” Be honest. I can stop ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy Monday!

  1. Coffee WAS NOT appealing to me at all during my first trimester. Like the smell of it made me want to throw up (my poor husband couldn’t have any either as a result). I had to have an IUI to get pregnant with my daughter too.
I have not seen those pumpkin spice milano cookies! They look delicious!

  2. My grandmother used to make these hotdog people???? That is as far as she went cooking. I’m happy you had a nice weekend. I love coffee, but only recentlly started drinking it. Have a great day

  3. Now thats one pumpkin cookie I could try with the chocolate too! I made it a point to sleep in this weekend and that I did! I really think I got too much sleep cause I felt groggy all day pretty much. There is a fine line between just enough and too much I think. How did I miss Nat. Grandparents day??? Oh goodness I will have to make up for sure! I’m like you there are people who don’t follow me often and I want them to be able to go back and read referenced post if they choose. If not, they can just skip on by… Thanks for linking up with us the week, I hope you have a great one!

  4. I’m not a coffee drinker but I had a major tea aversion up until like a few weeks ago. I don’t know why but I could not stand it and I was an avid tea drinker! Like, 5-6 cups of tea a day, haha. I love that you celebrated grandparents day with your parents. I should’ve done that with mine!

    • That’s a pretty long aversion! Most of mine only lasted the typical 1st trimester- thankfully! I wish I had an aversion to chocolate or chips or fresh warm bread, haha. Your maternity shots were beautiful and your bump is pretty much perfect! Happy Monday ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. I’ve been a bad sleeper all my life. There is a definite pattern on my Fitbit graph. For some reason, I can’t sleep on Sunday nights! My grandmother always had orange sherbet Pushups in her deep freezer for us grandkids. I’m not sure they even make those anymore! My granddad always made biscuits with cheddar cheese! Thanks for linking up with us today!

  6. Girl, you better sleep well now…..get it in while you can! My grandma was Jewish and used to make these amazing meat filled knishes…so yummy!
