Mugs, Works and Sugar!

Happy Friday Folks! I survived my first week back to work and am lucky enough to have worked from home two days this week- woo hoo!

Magic Mugs. I bought a Groupon to make these fun mugs and gave one to my sister. They turn from a completely black mug to a picture when you add hot water. I put a collage of Kara’s Valentines Day pictures on mine. I loved getting a text from my sister of her mug- her, Kara and I at my baby shower turned baby debut when Kara was 3 days old.

Tuesday, March 8. I’m getting so excited to find put of I got into the NYC Marathon and Tuesday is the days it happens! I love having a race to train for and NY is the perfect comeback marathon because it isn’t a PR course, so I won’t be tempted to hardcore train, but its a GREAT course none the less. Wish me luck!!!

No joke, I wrote the above sentences at 4am during a feeding and when I went back to sleep, I dreamed that I got in 🙂

Fenugreek. If you breast feed, this can be a lifesaver! It’s an all natural supplement that helps boost your milk supply and it works! The directions say to take 1 a day, but my doc said to take 2 capsules 3 times a day with food for 3 days if I notice a drop in my supply. I know some people who take it every day, but I just use it when I feel like she’s going through a growth spurt and need a little boost.

Fuller House. Not sure how I feel about this. I wanted to love it so bad. It’s REALLY corny and not as good as the original, but there’s something about the nostalgia that keeps me watching. Have you watched it?

Work Perks. Or should I say sabotages! Man, it’s been harder to stay on track at work than I thought it would be, BUT I can’t say that I totally hate it 😉 We got new fancy coffee machines at work the fresh grind the beans before it makes you drink. Most of them are sugary and have milk, so I can’t have them, but I’d be a liar if I said I haven’t tried them. Donuts for employee appreciation day= 2 rows, 5 columns, 3 high. Mission BBQ for a lunch training. I had a few bites of the mac n cheese- explanation below. Cookies and Brownie Bites… more sugar. Sugar for days. It’s so tempting and addictive. I don’t mind it in moderation, but this week was a bit much.

Yes, I am still dairy free for Kara. However, now that half of Kara’s feedings are from the bottle at daycare, I’m able to pump the “toxic” milk and mix it with milk I’ve pumped without eating dairy and she seems to tolerate it just fine. It’s’ not something I’m making a habit of, but a nice option to have.

  1. Wow, moms sacrifice a lot for their little ones! I’ve been thinking about (since yesterday) how Jesus Christ sacrificed so much for us, and I’m thankful that my parents are a constant example of that BIG amazing sacrifice. And your work perks look lovely!

  2. That’s so awesome that she’ll tolerate the milk!! My son was SO sensitive, (and he never took a freakin bottle… so there was that.) that I went the entire first year without any soy or dairy. That first cup of ice cream? Magical.

    • Oh man! No bottle! I feel for ya! Hopefully #2 won’t have that issue. A bowl of ice cream would be bad, but a bite or two of something with dairy in it seems to be ok.

  3. HOLY CRAP! THAT MUG IS THE FREAKING COOLEST THING EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanna dunk that delicious vanilla frosted cookie into it! GOODNESS LADY – that thing looks STUNNING! I can taste it, without even tasting it….?

    • Groupon, baby! No I didn’t get my baby on groupon… the MUG! I love those cookies- they are soft and sweet and delicious… for being store bought.
