Look Who’s Still Around

Well HELLO there ladies and gentleman! It’s officially been over a month since I’ve last blogged. Geeze! I don’t really have a good excuse other than that I’ve been busy with Kara and work and moving. #lifehappens My mom actually asked if something was wrong with her blog subscription because she wasn’t receiving any of my posts… yaaaa, that’s because I didn’t write any, haha.

We moved at the end of last month (only 15 minutes from where we used to live) and let me tell you, we are no where near close to being settled in. I wish I could snap my fingers and have everything done 😉 Although, I shouldn’t complain too much because Todd has pretty much done 95% of the work. Taking care of Kara has taken most of my time (no complaints there!) and has left me with little time to unpack. Oh well, it’ll get done eventually.

The official unlocking of our new house!

The official unlocking of our new house!

We closed on both houses on the same day which made it even more hectic. Technically we were homeless for about 6 hours since we sold our old house but hadn’t officially purchased our new one yet. I can’t wait to have you all over for a house warming party! For now, here’s some happenings from the past month…

Kara Girl

Look at how big this girl is! I owe you guys a 4 month update, which was last Sunday. In fact, her 3 month update was the last time I blogged! She loves blowing bubbles. And her mommy loves running. I had an issue with the under/outside of my right foot after Gasparilla and ended up taking a month off of running. I just started back up last week and am back to slow paces. I think it was an overuse injury so I’m making sure to ramp up SLOWLY this time. On that note- I need to register for a late spring/fall marathon ASAP… suggestions? The universe is speaking to me, I mean, come on…

26 2 Gas

Pumping at work sucks. Remember my shnazzy corner office? Ya, well, our group moved and now I’m in a normal person’s area- aka a cube. It’s a decent size, but it doesn’t have a door and the bathroom is farther away, so pumping is SO MUCH MORE ANNOYING now. Good thing I love that little girl!

Pumping

I got my hands on some Epic Spreads Birthday Cake Peanut/Cashew/Coconut Butter spread. There are sprinkles in it! I don’t think the flavor deserves all the hype, but it still tasted yummy and I think it might be better out of the jar instead of a packet. Nut butter shot for the win!

Epic Spreads

I didn’t cave, but was oh so close! In all seriousness though, the 1-3AM parties Kara likes to have have been killing my willpower to stay away from sweets. I’ve been finding myself at the end of every week saying that next week will be the week I have more self control. Maybe once I sign up for a marathon I’ll take it more seriously. We’ll see.

BOGO Nutella

And continuing with the food theme here… I LOVE this TJ’s Red Pepper spread with eggplant & garlic. Super tasty! I may be over indulging on the sweets a little but I’m definitely making up for it in the veggie department. I’ve been using this as a dip for raw asparagus, squash and zucchini.

TJ's Red Pepper Spread

Just like for Valentines Day, we did some St. Patty’s day crafting. Kara got a little wild and crazy off the boob juice 😉

Sleeping Kara

Hopefully I’ll be better about blogging and will have Kara’s 4 month update up soon 🙂 Hopefully you didn’t forget about me and will continue to read! Have a great week!!! I’m linking up with Erin for my weekend snapshot, Katie for MIMM and the Weekly Wrap!

    • I thought 4 months was tough, I don’t think I personally was in the shape or mood to move a month after having a baby, haha!

  1. Wow!
You have good reason for not posting on your blog, moving , sweet baby and work.
It never fails to amaze me to see what we mothers can accomplish.
Hope you have a great week.

    • Thanks, Ruth! That comment really made my day! It may not be easy at times but it sure is worth it, huh?!

  2. I wouldn’t be blogging either with all of those life changes! I think this is the first time I have visited your blog. I found this post through Her Heartland Soul’s Weekend Snapshots link up! Your daughter is adorable! Totally worth not blogging for 🙂

    • That’s why I love link ups! You always find new blogs to read and friends to make 🙂 She is pretty cute huh… I’m not biased or anything 😉

  3. Oh, my! Kara is getting so big. She’s a little angel. I remember the days of pumping at work. Thankfully, I could close my door but people would still knock and that would infuriate me! They knew what was happening and did it on purpose. Congratulations on your new house! I know it’s exciting but also a lot of work. I hope your foot doesn’t give you any more trouble. Thanks for linking with us Heather!

    • The foot is better! Woo hoo! Running helps relieves some of the life stress! Thankfully there’s an office I can go into and the guys are pretty good about keeping people away- they’ve got my back! Kara is almost double her birth weight now… so crazy!

    • I missed the link up! I’m too type A to feel completely settled in yet, haha. I’m getting better with that though!

  4. Oh my word- She is so cute! I miss when my kids were so tiny…Enjoy it! Though, I do not miss the pumping at work, or the wake-ups at 3am! Best of luck to you, and try to be kind to yourself- the sweets don’t matter, if you are doing the most important job in the world: being a mommy- It’s just another season of life!

    • Very true! I try and keep that in mind, as she’s my world now… although I’ll be happy when pumping’s over, haha!

  5. GET WITH THE PICTURE HEATHER! I don’t care how crazy life is or if you’re popping quadruplets out of your nether region, YOU BLOG! YOUR MOM WILL HAVE IT NO OTHER WAY!

    BAH HA HA HA! 😉

  6. Wishing you a very happy first Mother’s Day! Kara is so beautiful…Rich shares an occasional photo. Best wishes!
