Last Minute Race, Mini Donuts
This past week was interesting. If you follow me on Instagram (@heatherrunsfast), you’ll know I started running more this past week. I kind of went from 0-60, but eh, whatever, haha. Here’s the rundown- get it 😉
Sunday: 4 miles @ 8:35 on the treadmill
Monday: 8 miles @ 8:21 pace with Jolene in the AM outside
Tuesday: 6 miles @ 8:35 on treadmill
Wednesday: 9 miles @ 8:21 on the tread in the AM
Thursday: Body Pump!!!! I am SO happy to be back at it. I’ve missed this class so much!
Friday: 9 miles @ 8:00 outside in the AM- All was right in the world having my Friday morning run again with my running bff Jolene <3
Saturday: Body Pump
Sunday: Gasparilla Half Marathon- 1:42:55, 7:48 pace
Told you I ramped up quick! The half marathon wasn’t in the cards until Friday afternoon- ha! I wasn’t planning on being able to run at all this week, so the race wasn’t on my calendar at. all. When the opportunity presented itself, I couldn’t say no! Gasparilla is the biggest race in Tampa and a ton of people run it. This year, Meb and Stephanie Rothstein (1st place female in the half with a 1:12:53) ran the half and it was awesome being on the other side of the road, cheering them on!
Not having trained and only running a week prior (after a month off) I was pretty happy with my time. I went out too fast- rookie mistake- but reigned it in and held steady. It was a fun race and the weather was decent as well! Win-win. Last year, this was my first race after having Kara! The medals are always awesome.
Last week was National Engineers Week and since my company is mostly Engineers, of course we celebrated! We had 25 boxes of 35 mini donuts from The Mini Doughnut Factory and they were AWESOME! The above isn’t even half of their flavors. If you live in Tampa- GO THERE!
And of course… ^^this girl^^… Her new favorite place to sit is on the treadmill. Love it. I know I say it every week, but I seriously love this stage SO much. I love her more and more everyday. Now if only she’s say mama, haha.
