Jolene Run

Saturday: Body Pump

Sunday: Gasparilla Half Marathon- 1:42:55, 7:48 pace

Told you I ramped up quick! The half marathon wasn’t in the cards until Friday afternoon- ha! I wasn’t planning on being able to run at all this week, so the race wasn’t on my calendar at. all. When the opportunity presented itself, I couldn’t say no! Gasparilla is the biggest race in Tampa and a ton of people run it. This year, Meb and Stephanie Rothstein (1st place female in the half with a 1:12:53) ran the half and it was awesome being on the other side of the road, cheering them on!

Gasparilla 2017

Not having trained and only running a week prior (after a month off) I was pretty happy with my time. I went out too fast- rookie mistake- but reigned it in and held steady. It was a fun race and the weather was decent as well! Win-win. Last year, this was my first race after having Kara! The medals are always awesome.

Last week was National Engineers Week and since my company is mostly Engineers, of course we celebrated! We had 25 boxes of 35 mini donuts from The Mini Doughnut Factory and they were AWESOME! The above isn’t even half of their flavors. If you live in Tampa- GO THERE!

And of course… ^^this girl^^… Her new favorite place to sit is on the treadmill. Love it. I know I say it every week, but I seriously love this stage SO much. I love her more and more everyday. Now if only she’s say mama, haha.

Have a good week my friends! I’m linking up with Katie for MIMM and the Weekly Wrap!

  1. Those donuts looks amazing!! You had an awesome week! Congrats on the Gasparilla Half and you did amazing for running it last minute! Speedy!!! Your daughter is so cute! Love her new favorite spot to sit! 🙂

    • The donuts were better than expected! As was my race time… not sure where I pulled that from, haha. And thank you about Kara- I’m hoping she catches the running bug like her momma 🙂

  2. Sometimes it is best to just decide a day or two before the race, so you don’t stress about being “good enough” for too long! You remind me of my husband who ran the LA marathon on a complete WHIM last year. Ha ha.

  3. Those were some good miles we got together! You did awesome at Gasparilla, so glad that worked out and thank you again for picking up those bibs for me! LOVE that picture of Kara! Forget the donuts, I could eat her up! Look at that baby belly over the diaper!!!

  4. I love those last minute, stress free races! No time to think about it — just go and have fun. Great job! I just gained two pounds looking at those doughnuts. Trust me, Kara will say Mama soon enough…over and over and over. LOL. Thanks for linking, Heather.

    • I’m sure there will come a time that I write about how I just want her to be quiet! And yes, the donuts were to die for… and went straight to the hips, haha.
