So Much Running :)
My running game has been strong this past week and I’ve run almost every day <3 I had to take a little over 3 weeks off and I was surprised at how quickly my paces bounced back. It is H.O.T.T. hott here in Florida and I definitely haven’t adjusted to running in it. Per usual, I’ve been loading up on Nuun and that has definitely helped.
Todd was out of town last Sunday evening to late Wednesday night, so I had to get creative to fit my runs in. Getting up at 4AM to run, shower, get ready, get Kara ready, get Kara to daycare and get myself to work… sheesh, just writing it all makes me tired!
Thankfully, my mom was on call to help! She picked up Kara for me so I could run from their house. They walked in just as I was leaving and Kara gave me the biggest smile. I kept that picture in mind while I was dying in the heat, haha. I was surprised to see 8:30 as my pace… felt like I was going at at least a 9:00 min mile.
The other benefit of having my mom get Kara and running from their house is that my mom makes dinner for us She is an awesome cook and always makes delicious, well rounded meals. She made the pork loin in the crock pot and it was SO GOOD. Kara is definitely my child, with that green bean in one hand and brussel sprout in her mouth. My dad knocked it outta the park with this card he found and mailed to me with pictures from my childhood in it. It legit said Happy Mother’s Day inside. How does he find all the great Like A Boss stuff?!
Todd got back from Montreal late Wednesday night, so Thursday I was able to run after work, did an easy 5 miles. Then it was game on… Friday and Saturday mornings I ran with Jolene. She always knows just how much to push me. We got in two SOLID runs and I was very happy! (Her abs though… she’s had 4 kids, too)
Saturday we met up with my cousins at the park. Kara is always so timid for the first 30 minutes or so. She has to get the lay of the land and once she’s comfortable there’s no stopping her. I just love this stage.
Sunday was my 8th straight day of running! My legs were a bit sore (from taking all the time off beforehand) but I was still able to pull out a decent run. Boy was it a hot one! It is full on summer mode in Florida. It was 77 degrees with 85% humidity at 6AM. I was drenched, but loved every mile.
Todd’s birthday is this week, so we celebrated at my parents on Sunday. We had his usual request of fajitas and the below towering chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. It was delicious- obviously. #allthefrosting
Overall, I’m so happy with how this past week of running went. It’s hard to take time off, but I came back with a vengeance, haha. Here’s to another great week Linking up with The Weekly Wrap, Mommy Moments, MIMM and Inspire Me Monday!
