Food, Family and a Kiss

Happy Monday!!! Last week seemed to fly by, but I’m sure that’s because of the long weekend. Here’s some highlights from my week :)

Mini Avocados from TJ’s… Can you tell how small these are? They are the perfect size for Kara and I to share. Kara usually has avocado every night with her dinner. These are perfect because we finish one each night! No brown avo the next day!

Kara has her fist boyfriend! Cole (seen most in my baby crafting posts) and Kara go to the same daycare and were born one day apart! Every day last week, Kara would make sure to give him a kiss before either of them left… ohhhh boy, we are in for it!

We celebrated my mom’s birthday with dinner on Saturday. She requested salmon, succotash and broccoli. A delicious yet healthy choice!

moms bday dinnerA healthy dinner just means more room for dessert 😉 We devoured my sisters homemade chocolate cheesecake with Oreo crust. Every time I do a post after one of my family’s bdays/holidays I always want another piece of whatever the dessert is with my coffee in the morning as I write it.

Kara loved riding on GeeGee’s (my grandma) walker. Kristin was pushing her all over the kitchen and she was having a blast.

Other than dinner, I surprisingly didn’t take that many pictures this past week/end. Kara wasn’t feeling too well and it was raining all weekend, so other than Publix, we just hung around the house. We try and not be on our phone too much when it’s just her and us. I don’t want her thinking we are always attached to electronics for entertainment. Especially since we aren’t big on her watching TV or having an ipad or anything like that.

Instead… we PLAY!!! Kara was handed down this super cute kitchen and a bunch of food, utensils, pots/pans to go with it. She LOVEs it. She’s always point upstairs to go play. I love the imagination :)

Let’s hope this week flies by like last! Linking up with The Weekly Wrap, Mommy Moments, MIMM and Inspire Me Monday!

  1. Good for you on not allowing much TV, iPad, etc., for Kara! People think it’s nuts that I don’t let my 2.5-year-old watch TV. Granted, my life would be much easier if I did, but I don’t think it’s a good habit for little ones to get into! From what I have heard, it just sets you up for another battle anyway, because then they want it all the time. (Not being judgmental of parents who do allow it, just saying that playing outside, reading, etc., works best for us!)

    • I’m on the same page as you. It WOULD be easier to turn on the electronic babysitter, but down the road it will just be another battle. Kara LOVES her books and coloring and bubbles outside. It’s definitely more “work” but it’s also so much more quality time with the baby/toddler we always wanted <3
