I Have A LOT to Recap!

As the title says, I have a lot to recap from last week, so let’s get to it!

Last week we were a bit worried that Kara was getting sick. She didn’t have a fever but felt warm and had a slightly running nose and cough. Todd ended up staying home with her Monday and Tuesday and sent me all kind of fun pictures and videos! This was my fave…

I got a new “toy” to add to my running data obsession :) The Milestone Pod. You can see just SOME of the data it provides below. It syncs up with bluetooth after your run, has so many cool graphs/ charts/ stats and is so small. #nerd

I saw this cauliflower pizza crust by Cali’Flour Foods on someone’s instagram and decided to go in with a friend to try it. It’s KIND OF expensive, but if you sign up for the newsletter you get a discount. I was SUPER impressed with the taste and ingredients: cauliflower, cheese, eggs, and spices. That’s it! No extra flours or binders (looking at you Trader Joe’s “cauliflower” crust).

On Wednesday I had a work offsite meeting and they had these delicious cookies… which I totally needed. During the meeting is when I got the call that my cycle was cancelled. Great timing! I had to go back into the meeting, cheery Heather! when all I wanted to do was cry. I NEEDED that cookie haha.

I got in a few lifting sessions last week, too. I’ve really been trying to incorporate them into my routine. I even cut a few runs short so I could fit it in before work (I get in at 7AM). I really miss my body pump days!

I got a shipment from Legend Compression Wear with their Recovery Socks! I love the logo on the foot :) They are a little tighter than their marathon socks (hence the recovery part) and I loved them!

On Friday we had a fun play date and Kara enjoyed playing play dough and shooting some hoops!

On Saturday, Todd played golf with my dad, so I woke up a bit earlier than I normally would on a Saturday to get my run in before Kara woke up. Todd snapped a quick picture before he left and literally 5 minutes later, Kara woke up. I let her hang out in her crib until I got to 4 miles, wiped my sweat off as best as I could, went upstairs, grabbed her (the last night she wore those jammies!) and some food and plopped her down in the gym with me. I turned on Alvin and the Chipmunks and she was good to go for 2 more miles! Thank you Kara for cooperating <32 more milesSunday morning I met up with Stephanie (in the darker green tank) to run some miles and was pleasantly greeted by a group of awesome ladies! I LOVE meeting new running buddies… especially ones I actually mesh with. It was great run and I look forward to more miles with them :)

Sunday afternoon we headed to my parents because, well, we love them and Kara missed Nana and Grandpa. They always have delicious fruit in the summer and Kara couldn’t resist chowing down on some watermelon. After my sweaty run that morning, I dug in, too… watermelon=hydration!

And the most exciting news of the week… MY SISTER GOT ENGAGED!!! So excited and happy for her! I love you, Kris<3Kris Engaged

  1. Awww Kara is such a cutie pie. I’m glad whatever bug she started the week with disappeared. Watermelon always helps of course. :)

Nice job on the workouts. I keep meaning to do it more, but almost always opt to do anything else instead. Ha. :)

    • I’m glad, too! I hate it when she’s sick… although I love the extra cuddles 😉
I never have a problem making time to run, but when it comes to lifting, I always make an excuse…

    • You have to calibrate it after the first few runs (which I literally just tapping a button) but ya, it’s pretty darn accurate! So far, I’ve only run with it outside with my Garmin once and the numbers were all very close.
