Car Rides, Running, Inversion Tables and Treats!
Happy Monday! This is going to be a busy week for me! I’ve got a lot going on at work and with doctors appointments and I’m ready to get the ball rolling! Here are some highlights from last week… Kara is obsessed with riding in the passenger seat of the car. She goes to the garage door and yells car! car! We just go around the neighborhood, but she sits the whole time and absolutely loves it! (she is wearing a diaper in the second pic- just for clarification)
I know people loath the treadmill, but I love it! Maybe it’s my set up: extra AC, TV, 2 fans, mirrors. Part of it is safety. I run between 4-6AM in the morning and if I have to run alone I feel safer on the treadmill. It’s also easier to hit actual speed work paces when it’s 85 degrees with 90% humidity at 5AM. Don’t get me wrong, I love running outside, but the treadmill is my friend, too. Plus, I can use dry shampoo with treadmill sweaty hair- not so much outside sweaty hair 😉
Western Bagel had a great deal on free shipping so I stocked up! I’ve been loving the everything bagel with strawberry cream cheese and peanut butter. Yum!!! I love that they satisfy my carb cravings AND have protein. It’s a win win and they keep me full! The bagelettes are perfect to give to Kara to eat in the car ride to daycare in the mornings. If you create an account and use code HRFbagels you save 15%!
I had a nice mini tempo sesh on Wednesday. Tempos are my favorite!!! Todd is too amazing and waits until he hears the treadmill slow down to come in and say good morning with Kara. Usually on this day he takes Kara in, so it’s nice to see her before they leave <3 My little fan club.
Halo Top came out with more flavors!!! AND they are coming out with a pumpkin! I’m excited to try the pancake and waffles one! I must admit, I’ve been eating them almost nightly along with wearing my Legend Compression recovery socks as my nightly wind down ritual I found an awesome deal at Target (2 for $8) AND I had a $2 off 2 pints that they let me use for each two. Love saving me some money!
I had another great Friday run with Jolene! I had a doctors appointment, so I was able to sleep in 30 more minutes and it’s crazy the difference in the light after! Usually our pics are in the dark. We ran some pretty sweet splits, too! Love my miles with her <3We got an inversion table and I was a little leary at first, but I think it’s actually helping my back. I have a lot less soreness at work when I’m standing and just overall. I do it for about 3 minutes each night before bed. We’ll see how long I keep it up, but for now, I’m liking it!
On Sunday I ran with my girlfriend Kristin, but at the end ran into more running friends. I just love the running community and the friends it’s brought me. Kristin and I held a pretty good pace. It was rather hot out (I know, preaching to the choir) and I was soaked at the end. Per usual. I still love it though.
Capped the weekend off with some delicious steaks, roasted potatoes and veggies.
My next doctors appointment is Wednesday and we’ll be checking my follicles for hopefully some growth. But not too much growth! Last time I was slow to start growing them and then they shot up like weeds- all of them. This time we’re hoping for a few big ones and the rest to stay small. If you’re reading this before the Solar Eclipse, be careful and don’t stare into the sun without glasses!!!
