Family

The day after Christmas, we had our third and final transfer. There are no more eggs/embryos left and unless we want to do it all over again (remember, I’ve been doing infertility treatments for a year now) we are done. We came to accept that Kara could be an only child a few months ago, so I’ve been preparing myself (as much as you can) for the outcome. I got in an easy 6 mile run and we hung out until my appointment at 3PM. Of course Todd and Kara came. We transferred 2 embryos and then Kara and I […]

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I’m sure by now everyone is Christmas-ed out, but we did nothing for new years eve (went to sleep at 10PM 🙂 nothing to report there) and didn’t want to blog while I was on vacation from work and spending time with the fam <3 So you’re getting Christmas from HRF a little late. Sorry not sorry. Christmas Eve started with a super humid, super emotional run with Jolene. I don’t know where it came from (maybe all the extra estrogen I’m on) but towards the end of the run I was riding the struggle bus and […]

Well, I made it to the end of the work week before Christmas. It’s always a slower time in the office, as a lot of people take vacation, and it makes the time drag!Kara came down with a cold Monday so I took a sick day and kept her home Tuesday, which was a nice, unexpected “day off.” She woke up and, as you can see from her eyes, was super congested. We made pumpkin banana muffins with Kodiak mix and she was too cute standing at the oven watching them bake. They were a hit! She’s had them every […]

Happy Monday everyone! Can you believe it will be Christmas this time next week?! I had a pretty great week last week that included two days of vacation from work, a lot of running, so much yummy food and of course, time with family. Sorry if you follow me on Instagram and have seen all of these pictures… I still like to put them on the blog and think that some people don’t use IG. Anyway, here’s my week in collages! Monday: One of my two days of vacation this week! It was really cold (for Florida) so I slept […]

To start this off on a somewhat random note: at my work, you can only roll over so many weeks of vacation. For maternity leave, if you want to get paid a full paycheck the whole time your off, you have to supplement with your vacation and sick time (and even then it’s not going to last you 3 months). That being said, we 100% believed I’d be pregnant and giving birth before the end of this year (HA!) so I saved it all. To be honest, at some point, we just forgot about it. Well, there I was, with […]

Kara turned two this weekend. You’d think I’d be sad or say that time’s going by too fast, but ya know what?! Time flies when you’re having fun!!! This past year has been amazing and if that’s anything like the next year- I. Can’t. Wait. I could be wrong, but I think with her it will be the terrible three’s instead of two’s, but only time will tell. Kara’s little boyfriend at daycare, Cole, is one day younger than her and had his birthday party on Saturday. All of Kara’s little daycare friends were there and it was Elmo themed- […]

HAAAAAAAAAAAAPPY FRIDAY! 1- Progesterone Shots: Yowzers! To go along with Transfer #2, I’m taking progesterone shots. Last transfer I used suppositories, but my levels weren’t where they wanted them, so we’re going this route. The progesterone is in oil and requires a thicker needle. It also has to go into the glute muscle, so it has to be longer. I mentioned in THIS POST that I made Todd go out a buy a smaller needle because I was afraid of the bigger one for my trigger shot. Weeeeeelllll, these shots HAVE to use the bigger needle 🙁 I’ve been doing […]

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!! My week started off with a late blog post and work- boo! We had to work until Wednesday, but as you can imagine, there wasn’t too much work going on 😉  Tuesday I had a fabulous run with Jolene. My “good pace” is now her easy pace and Wednesday I did an easy run on the treadmill and Body Pump after work. That take us to Thursday… Thanksgiving!!! I ran on my favorite “trail” with a girlfriend and just enjoyed myself. I am so thankful for these legs and how much they’ve gotten me through. […]

Happy Tuesday! I know I normally post on Monday’s, but I took the day off of work to spend some extra time with Kara and my parents, so I’m posting today. NBD. I feel like I have a lot to “tell” so I’m going to try and keep it to two sentences per picture using collages! I had a great balance of “faster” and easy runs this past week, along with two Body Pump classes! I’m surprisingly not as sore as I thought I’d be and sad my running/exercise has to come to an end again, but know it will […]

Happy Monday! Last week was pretty great. Not having to deal with shots and only having to take estrogen (to build up my lining) has been a great “break.” I have an appointment tomorrow (Tuesday) to check how my lining is coming along and then I’ll start adding in more meds and progesterone shots- eeeee. The only side affects I’ve gotten from the estrogen is tiredness and mild headaches, so for now, I’m enjoying no bloating and less mood swings!I got in a decent mid week run of 9 miles @ 8:14 pace. I ended up running (literally) into Jolene at […]
