Fun Times

The day after Christmas, we had our third and final transfer. There are no more eggs/embryos left and unless we want to do it all over again (remember, I’ve been doing infertility treatments for a year now) we are done. We came to accept that Kara could be an only child a few months ago, so I’ve been preparing myself (as much as you can) for the outcome. I got in an easy 6 mile run and we hung out until my appointment at 3PM. Of course Todd and Kara came. We transferred 2 embryos and then Kara and I […]

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I’m sure by now everyone is Christmas-ed out, but we did nothing for new years eve (went to sleep at 10PM 🙂 nothing to report there) and didn’t want to blog while I was on vacation from work and spending time with the fam <3 So you’re getting Christmas from HRF a little late. Sorry not sorry. Christmas Eve started with a super humid, super emotional run with Jolene. I don’t know where it came from (maybe all the extra estrogen I’m on) but towards the end of the run I was riding the struggle bus and […]

Kara turned two this weekend. You’d think I’d be sad or say that time’s going by too fast, but ya know what?! Time flies when you’re having fun!!! This past year has been amazing and if that’s anything like the next year- I. Can’t. Wait. I could be wrong, but I think with her it will be the terrible three’s instead of two’s, but only time will tell. Kara’s little boyfriend at daycare, Cole, is one day younger than her and had his birthday party on Saturday. All of Kara’s little daycare friends were there and it was Elmo themed- […]

HAAAAAAAAAAAAPPY FRIDAY! 1- Progesterone Shots: Yowzers! To go along with Transfer #2, I’m taking progesterone shots. Last transfer I used suppositories, but my levels weren’t where they wanted them, so we’re going this route. The progesterone is in oil and requires a thicker needle. It also has to go into the glute muscle, so it has to be longer. I mentioned in THIS POST that I made Todd go out a buy a smaller needle because I was afraid of the bigger one for my trigger shot. Weeeeeelllll, these shots HAVE to use the bigger needle 🙁 I’ve been doing […]

Happy Tuesday! I know I normally post on Monday’s, but I took the day off of work to spend some extra time with Kara and my parents, so I’m posting today. NBD. I feel like I have a lot to “tell” so I’m going to try and keep it to two sentences per picture using collages! I had a great balance of “faster” and easy runs this past week, along with two Body Pump classes! I’m surprisingly not as sore as I thought I’d be and sad my running/exercise has to come to an end again, but know it will […]

Good Morning! It’s only been four days since I last posted, but a lot has happened! Friday started off with Kara and I’s usual Froyo Date, after work of course. She freakin loves that place. And then I had my beta test to see if I was pregnant. Saturday we decided to go to the zoo! Kara had only gone once, when she was a little baby and we figured it was time since she loves animals. We took a “safari” ride, visited the petting zoo (of which no petting took place) and walked around for a few hours, seeing […]

Happy Thursday folks! Let me start off by saying that we are migrating my blog to another hosting site, so if things are a bit weird, I apologize! Todd is doing all the work and I am so grateful to him <3 When we last “talked” I had just had my egg retrieval for IVF. I got super bloated and the bloating hasn’t gone away. I still look 4-5 months pregnant. So fun. We decided to only implant one embryo, as we don’t want the chance for twins and the odds of getting pregnant by implanting two embryo’s isn’t that […]

Happy Monday folks! Kara’s daycare was close last Monday, so I had the privilege of staying home with her <3 I still got up extra early so I could get a run in (a not too shabby run if you ask me!) and enjoy every second with her. We had pumpkin zoatmeal for breakfast, went to the park and split an ice cream bar to cool down. Look at those red cheeks!!! Kara is all about reading, so you better believe we spent a good amount of time in her room going through books. Brown Bear Brown Bear is one […]

I’ve been logging some pretty great mileage the last month or so! I can 100% say that it has made a huge difference in how this cycle of injections has gone. Both mentally and physically I’ve been in a better place. Not being able to exercise makes me feel like crap and that’s what I had to do at my previous Reproductive Doctor. Not only was I bloated from the meds, but from not being able to sweat. (TMI: and not being able to crap! exercising keeps me regular!) So this go around I’ve been in a much better place. […]

Happy Monday! This is going to be a busy week for me! I’ve got a lot going on at work and with doctors appointments and I’m ready to get the ball rolling! Here are some highlights from last week… Kara is obsessed with riding in the passenger seat of the car. She goes to the garage door and yells car! car! We just go around the neighborhood, but she sits the whole time and absolutely loves it! (she is wearing a diaper in the second pic- just for clarification) I know people loath the treadmill, but I love it! Maybe […]
