Running

Happy Monday! Last week was pretty great. Not having to deal with shots and only having to take estrogen (to build up my lining) has been a great “break.” I have an appointment tomorrow (Tuesday) to check how my lining is coming along and then I’ll start adding in more meds and progesterone shots- eeeee. The only side affects I’ve gotten from the estrogen is tiredness and mild headaches, so for now, I’m enjoying no bloating and less mood swings!I got in a decent mid week run of 9 miles @ 8:14 pace. I ended up running (literally) into Jolene at […]

Good Morning! It’s only been four days since I last posted, but a lot has happened! Friday started off with Kara and I’s usual Froyo Date, after work of course. She freakin loves that place. And then I had my beta test to see if I was pregnant. Saturday we decided to go to the zoo! Kara had only gone once, when she was a little baby and we figured it was time since she loves animals. We took a “safari” ride, visited the petting zoo (of which no petting took place) and walked around for a few hours, seeing […]

Happy Thursday folks! Let me start off by saying that we are migrating my blog to another hosting site, so if things are a bit weird, I apologize! Todd is doing all the work and I am so grateful to him <3 When we last “talked” I had just had my egg retrieval for IVF. I got super bloated and the bloating hasn’t gone away. I still look 4-5 months pregnant. So fun. We decided to only implant one embryo, as we don’t want the chance for twins and the odds of getting pregnant by implanting two embryo’s isn’t that […]

Last week was my last few days of running, my birthday and my egg retrieval for IVF. I must say, that all that made for a pretty eventful week, one way or another! I took Monday as a rest day after my 16 miler and did an easy 6 miles on the treadmill Tuesday. I still had a bit of my birthday cake left over and had it as a pre-breakfast with my Nuun… no shame! Wednesday was officially my last day of running until hopefully after I find out I’m pregnant! I was so happy to get some miles in […]

Happy Monday folks! Kara’s daycare was close last Monday, so I had the privilege of staying home with her <3 I still got up extra early so I could get a run in (a not too shabby run if you ask me!) and enjoy every second with her. We had pumpkin zoatmeal for breakfast, went to the park and split an ice cream bar to cool down. Look at those red cheeks!!! Kara is all about reading, so you better believe we spent a good amount of time in her room going through books. Brown Bear Brown Bear is one […]

Happy Monday Folks! I’m pretty sure I said this a few weeks ago, but man, what a week. I had a big event that I was planning at work for Saturday, we started IVF, my phone broke and Kara hurt her foot. At least I got in some good runs! Here’s how it all went down… Event Planning: By no means am I an event planner. My official title is Internal Marketing and Communications Specialist. WAY different than organizing something for 600 people. The event was Saturday and the week leading up to it was stressful to say the least. […]

New to me Pumpkin things!!! A girlfriend at work brought me some pumpkin Joe Joe’s and pumpkin wafer cookies. I’ve had the Joe Joe’s and they are SO GOOD! Way better than the Oreo ones. The wafers were OK, but nothing special. I had to track down the Pumpkin Pie Halo… I saw it “In Stock” at my local store on Target’s website, so I went there and it of course it wasn’t there. There wasn’t even a price label for it. Not. Cool. So I asked an employee to check in the back and he said, “We have 6, how […]

Last week started with Todd coming home from a short work trip to DC and a doctors appointment for me. It ended with plenty of running, food, family and fun! I did 2 easy 6 milers, one 10 x 400 (.25 miles) @ 6:27 pace workout and got in 8 wonderful miles with Jolene on Friday. Friday afternoon Kara and I had our usual Froyo date, but my parents joined. Kara was SO excited when they walked in. Saturday began the normal way, with Kara and pancakes. She slept until 8:45!!! I ended up getting up around 8:30 which is […]

It’s been about 2 weeks since I’ve blogged and I blame it on Irma! Last week started with the hurricane, which came in Sunday night into Monday. I’ll do a whole separate post on that, but it affected a lot. Luckily, we didn’t have any damage, but a lot of people lost power, including our work. We got a text Monday that work would resume Wednesday. We got in on Wednesday and after an hour were told to go home because the AC wasn’t working and we were still on a generator. Great. We picked up Kara and went home 🙂 […]

I’ve been logging some pretty great mileage the last month or so! I can 100% say that it has made a huge difference in how this cycle of injections has gone. Both mentally and physically I’ve been in a better place. Not being able to exercise makes me feel like crap and that’s what I had to do at my previous Reproductive Doctor. Not only was I bloated from the meds, but from not being able to sweat. (TMI: and not being able to crap! exercising keeps me regular!) So this go around I’ve been in a much better place. […]
