My Running Journey Mile by Mile :)

My running game has been strong this past week and I’ve run almost every day <3 I had to take a little over 3 weeks off and I was surprised at how quickly my paces bounced back. It is H.O.T.T. hott here in Florida and I definitely haven’t adjusted to running in it. Per usual, I’ve been loading up on Nuun and that has definitely helped. Todd was out of town last Sunday evening to late Wednesday night, so I had to get creative to fit my runs in. Getting up at 4AM to run, shower, get ready, get Kara ready, […]

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cake

If you aren’t sick of hearing/reading it yet… Happy Mother’s Day! Mine started with a nice and easy 10 miler. It was warm out, but felt nicer than the previous mornings! Some mom’s want to sleep in on “their day.” Not me! I want to do what I love and that running! I got home a little after Kara woke up, so I drank my Nuun and she had her milk, before we sat down together to stretch and share a banana. We went on our typical weekend walk to the playground, one of my favorite parts of the weekend. […]

Banana with Kara

Hello hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Sorry for the glitch with the blog this morning… I hit publish before I was done! That’s what happens when I blog before coffee 😉 Here are some randoms from my life last week… I had the pleasure of meeting up with Jolene for lunch last week at Panera. We caught up on life and ate some delicious salads. We used the kiosk to order and I loved it. I can place a picky order without sounding high maintenance, haha. I always add whatever veggies are free and switch up the dressing (on […]

I’ve tried some new and tried and true things lately and figured I’d share them with you! Western Bagels = awesome. That pretty much sums it up. They taste great, have great macros/calories and are a good size- similar to a Lender’s bagel in size, only denser The Perfect 10 bagels have 150-160 cals, 18-21g carbs and 19g protein… you can’t beat that! Ideal Fit Protein: I don’t drink a ton of protein shakes anymore, but decided to give this brand/flavor a try after seeing it on IG and hearing Amber rave about it so much. Let me just say… I […]

Western Bagels

Miss me? I’m sure you didn’t even notice with social media flooded with all things Boston Marathon (rightfully so). I had a work trip to Montreal and I just didn’t have time. But I’m back! Where to begin? How about running? This is HeatherRunsFast 😉 I had some great runs the past two weeks. Got in my favorite run… A run with Jolene that is <3 Our miles always fly by. Got in a few good treadmill runs as well. Had another good outside run on Easter. Came home and Kara stole my water bottle. Per usual. I was expecting a […]

Morning Kara

Hey hey!!! We are super happy in the Winchell household, as Todd is home! He got back Saturday after being in Israel for 8 days for work. He almost didn’t make it home with all the cancelled/delayed Delta flights. I surprised myself with some solid runs while he was gone- which is always tough with work and Kara. I like to call it my single parent life. I got in two 8 milers before Kara woke up during the week… The actual running part is easy, it’s the, shower, wake Kara up, get me, get her ready, drive (in more traffic […]

cookie run

I have a super fun guest post for you guys today! Something I need to incorporate into my own training and life… Enjoy and HAPPY FRIDAY! I’m sure you’ve heard about cross training before, but do you actually know what cross training is? Well, if you want to know the exact definition, Runner’s World defines as a training that “combines exercises, disciplines, different than that of the athlete in training.” Under this definition, you have forms of training that are tremendously important for your body like strength training that actually don’t qualify as core training, simply because they don’t fall […]
