My Running Journey Mile by Mile :)

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! We kept things low key, with the normal running eating and family time, but lets start with last week… Every Monday I take a rest day. Even (especially) when I was marathon training. It’s super important to let your body rest so your muscles have time to repair and work harder for you next time! So instead of a running pic, I’ll show you a delicious everything bagel from Western Bagel (160 cals, 21 carbs, 19 protein- use code HRFBagels for 15% off) with cream cheese. Love these things. I was […]

Happy Monday! Last week was a weird one, huh?! We had to work Monday, had Tuesday off and then worked the rest of the week. Made for a very unproductive week, work wise, if you ask me, but productive in every other area, haha. On Tuesday, we went to the Glazer Children’s Museum with Nana. If you live or are visiting Tampa and have kids you HAVE to go there. The mission of the Glazer Children’s Museum is to create learning environments where children play, discover, and connect to the world around them to develop as lifelong learners and leaders. I thought it would be fun to do a WIAW about my food and routine on a work day when I’m running. So here it goes… Wake up at early-o’clock! Depending on my run, I’ll either drink Nuun or Amino Energy or both, while I foam roll. After sleeping all night, my legs are tight and need a little warming up before I start working them. I save the BCAA’s for after a run. Start running! I either hop on the treadmill or meet Jolene to run outside. During the week I keep my runs to 6-8 miles and vary […]

Breakfasts

I’m one of those unlucky people that had to work today- wah wah. But that’s OK… half the people took today off so it’ll be quiet at work. Today is Kara’s 1 year 7 month Bday, so we took some extra time this morning to hang out. Last week started on a high note with this delicious brownie… A lady at work makes them and they are so ooey and gooey and rich and fudgey and perfect. I started tracking my heart rate during my runs thanks to my Heart Zones Blink 3.0. I like that I can wear it […]

It was a busy weekend in the Winchell household! But let’s start with last week… Todd took the week off of work to get some stuff done around the house. We’ve lived in our house for over a year now and are slowly decorating. Todd did this navy shiplap wall and it turned out awesome! Now we have to decide whether or not to paint the speakers navy or keep them white… I received two awesome shipments during the week! I love me a Western Bagel. This was my first time trying the Begelettes and I’m a huge fan. 60 […]

High Tea

Where to begin… if this isn’t the first post of mine you’ve read, you know that I have an amazing, beautiful, year and a half old daughter, Kara. I got pregnant with her through intrauterine insemination (IUI): a fertility treatment that involves placing sperm inside a woman’s uterus to facilitate fertilization. The goal of IUI is to increase the number of sperm that reach the fallopian tubes and subsequently increase the chance of fertilization. You can read about my experience HERE. We got super lucky and got pregnant on the first cycle, but normally it can take up to 3 or 4 cycles. […]

Good Morning! Happy Belated Father’s Day to any dad’s who read the blog (I’m guessing it’s only Todd and my dad, haha). We celebrated with having everyone over, spending quality time together and eating! For dinner we had steak, baked potatoes and broccoli. And for dessert, of course we had a huge delicious cake. If you haven’t noticed, it’s our family’s tradition My dad and Todd both like chocolate cake with chocolate peanut butter frosting, so that’s what my mom made. It was delicious. I have to say, I am only lucky girl! I have the best dad in the […]
