chocolate cake

Mid Week Speed! I mentioned last week that I was on the struggle bus mentally and having a tough time with my speed/tempos. Well, my mid-week quality run was a success and big confidence booster. Disclaimer- I did this run on the treadmill and I feel like it’s always easier to hit your paces on a tread, but still… it boosted my confidence. Baby Pool Party! One of my mommy friends had a bunch of babies over to splash around in the pool My how pool parties have changed.  20 miles! This was an “easy” week for my long run. […]

Last Week Today With HRF, Plus a Free Race Entry!

Do any of you guys watch Last Week Tonight with John Oliver? Not only is he hilarious, he’s SUPER informative and talks about topics that REALLY matter. Not just who won what award or who’s dating who. I’ve actually learned quite a lot from watching his shows. That was a long intro to say, that’s where I got the idea for my post title, haha. We got a Papa John’s pizza (The Works- minus olives for Todd) last weekend and I’ve been wanting a slice every day! Obviously we ate the whole thing that day and I can’t eat half […]

Jerusalem Half Marathon or Should I Say 21.1K

So clearly from the post title, I was in Jerusalem. We got back Saturday and the race was Friday morning, but lets back up a bit… Todd left for work in Ber’Sheva, Israel January 15th. After his work was done, I met him in Tel Aviv for a little vacation. Since this is Heather RUNS Fast, I’ll start my Israel recap with running… OBV. I got in two great runs on Tel Aviv beach. Both times I had cool temps in the beginning and most of the running path was shaded, but it got warm quick. They are 6 hours ahead […]

WIAW: Saturday and Sunday Celebrations

WORKOUTS Sunday: 6 miles @ 8:33 pace on trail with Todd Monday: Rest Tuesday: 4 miles @ 8:00 pace on treadmill/ Pilates Wednesday: 5 miles @ 8:23 pace on trail with Jolene ****** I’m jumping on the What I Ate Wednesday wagon again and linking up with Jenn at Peas And Crayons, to bring you my delicious eats from this weekend. My birthday isn’t for a few weeks, but due to some unfavorable circumstances, we had to celebrate this weekend. Saturday started with a run on the treadmill and the usual oatmeal/protein shake combo for breakfast. Lunch was ham and […]

More Stretching and More Cake

WORKOUTS Sunday: 6 miles @ 8:45 pace on treadmill Monday: Body Pump Tuesday: 2 miles @ 8:30 pace on treadmill/ Pilates Wednesday: 4 miles @ 8:45 on treadmill ****** I’ve been keeping my “long runs” inside as to avoid any extra pressure/stress on my body from the heat and humidity. Anyone who knows me or has read HFR for any length of time knows that I don’t mind running on the treadmill at all. In fact, I’ve done several really long (16-20) milers as well as many speed workouts on the tready. That’s mainly because of my treadmill setup and […]

Father’s Day and Some Randoms

My dad is pretty predictable when it comes to Father’s Day/ Birthday dinner requests. Just like LAST YEAR and every year before that, he always asks for Ham and Asparagus Lasagna with some form of my mom’s chocolate cake for dessert. The lasagna has an alfredo-like sauce and it’s actually REALLY good!  This year, he went with the good ole classic chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. It never gets old and is so delicious. I already can’t wait for his birthday in a month when we’ll have it again  I had mine sans ice cream this time, but the picture […]

My Laid Back Valentines Day Weekend

WORKOUT Saturday: 6 miles @ 8:20 pace + 2 miles @ 8:00 pace with Ry on the trail Sunday: Rest ****** Let me just start off by saying that I am THAT super corny girl. Todd’s normal weekday morning routine is to wake up, have cereal for breakfast, shower and head to work- taking all of 25 minutes. I don’t know how he does it. Anyway, Friday morning he awoke to this: And was then surprised when he got to work and opened his lunch to find this… (OK, not laid out perfectly like this. Obviously I took this before […]
