WIAW: An Opening Shift

WORKOUTS Monday: 30 minutes on stationary bike/ Body Pump Tuesday: 4 miles @ 9:15 pace outside/ Pilates Wednesday: Rest ****** Here’s another What I Ate Wednesday (WIAW) for you! Thanks to Jenn for hosting the foodie party! Today I’m highlighting what I eat on a day that I open at work. The stores hours are 10-7 during the week and I get there at 9:45AM to open the store and get everything ready. This means I have to leave around 9/9:15. Some mornings I’ll run before work, but on this particular day I didn’t. I “slept in” until 7:15 and […]

A Day in the Life

WORKOUT Tuesday: 6 miles @ 8:26 pace on treadmill/ Pilates Pilates was, really good. Mary Anne (my fave instructor) mixed things up a bit this class and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My run was blah. My legs were still a bit sore from Sunday’s LR. Wednesday: This was a tough one. ****** I decided to join my SPA (Sweat Pink Ambassador) sisters for a blog link up held by Jill and Angela. So here ya go, a day in the life of me 🙂 This actually isn’t a typical day, but it IS a typical Wednesday. Now that I’m back into […]

A Successful Weekend

WORKOUT Saturday: Body Pump I kicked my a** in Body Pump 🙂 Like the last class, I didn’t do any squats and held a plank for the entire round (about 5 1/2 min) instead. I did do lunges though and probably shouldn’t have, at least not all of them. Oh well. Now I know for next time. Sunday: 10 miles @ 8:13 pace on trail Yes yes… I did a long run today. If I’m going to training for a PR at Space Coast I have to start somewhere. Just like my 6 miler Friday, I’m hoping I’m not super […]

Random Ramblings

WORKOUT Friday: Express Pilates/ Total Body Sculpting Saturday: Rest/ Abs I was surprisingly impressed with the express 30 minute Pilates class! There was a nice balance of ab work to stretching. In Heather talk, that means more abs than stretching, haha. Total Body Sculpting wasn’t too shabby either. I refrained from any lunges or squats, but did do the jumping jacks and step aerobics parts. I favor Body Pump over TBS but it was a nice change up. ****** This week I had the chance to catch up with my friend and Tampa Bay blogger, Mary. We have both been […]

Red, White and Blue

WORKOUT Thursday: 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on treadmill/ Body Pump BP was changed to 8:30am because of July 4th, so I ran after and I must say I prefer to run before. I almost wasn’t able to get into class because it was full. I was 4th on the waiting list! Luckily for me, those people didn’t show 🙂 Friday: 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on treadmill Easy Peasy 6 miles on the tready. I still need a name for him/her… ****** RED: Pizza sauce! Most people BBQ on the 4th of July, but we had hoagie roll pizzas! […]

Why are you all dolled up?

WORKOUT 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on treadmill I have really been slacking in the foam rolling department lately, only using it when I’m sore. WELL, if I’d just use it more often, like I should, then I probably would be less sore to begin with! When will I learn? My run went fine once I got a mile or so into it. I also did a light lifting routine at the house 🙂 ****** I’ve mentioned my DLites dates with my friend Melissa quite a few times. We usually go sometime during the week, in the late morning. Both […]

A BIG Thank You

WORKOUT 6 miles @ 8:26 pace on treadmill I was going to run this outside today (one last run on the trail I trained on:)) but when I woke to 76 degrees and 90% humidity, I headed for the treadmill. Weaksauce, I know, haha. My knee was OK, same ole same ole. I plan on running an easy 4 miles tomorrow and resting Sunday so I’ll be ready to bust out an awesome 26.2 miles on Monday 😉 ****** I’ve been receiving a lot of support from family, friends and Facebook/Blog friends for Boston and feel so grateful. It’s almost stupid how […]

My Apologies & a Bittersweet Sunday

WORKOUT 14 miles @ 7:48 pace on trail Recap included in post, but overall it went well. ****** I just want to apologize in advance for the abundance of Boston Marathon posts I will most likely be making this week! Please excuse my obsession with anything and everything running, racing, and Boston related, haha. I love me some 26.2! I had my last “long run” before Boston today. A nice little 14 miles. The morning started off a little frazzled though… I usually prep our pancake batter before I leave for my run. One less thing to worry about after a long […]

WORKOUT Rest/ Gym- weights My knee was a little sore this morning. To be expected, nothing to be worried about. Surprisingly though, my muscles aren’t really sore. I went to the gym to pump some iron. OK, not really, but I did get sweaty! ****** SO glad I ran Saturday! I woke up this morning at 7AM (this is sleeping in for me, haha) and the temp was already 73 degrees with 92 % humidity. Speaking of yesterday… Look at what came in the mail! This was the perfect ending to my day yesterday. Great 18 miler, followed by yummy […]

Running Surfaces- Part II & a Date with Mom

WORKOUT Rest/ Weights & Ab Routine Hip Hip, Ho-ray! My knee was NOT sore when I woke up this morning. Progress people. Lets hope this trend continues. Upper body weights it was today. I worked those biceps good! ****** Happy Friday Folks! You made it another week 🙂 I was lucky enough to spend the last day of spring break with mi madre. We have been trying to have a DLites date for the longest time and it finally came! My mom and I ALWAYS have something to talk about and the time flew by too quick. I love spending time with […]
