Good Food, Drinks and Company

Last week was full of fun times with friends and family, and of course involved some great food. We went over to my parents house during the week to watch the Lightning Game- if you didn’t know, they are in the Stanley Cup Finals. That particular night they won, wooo hoo! Highlights from Last Week

I went on a fun ice cream date with Stephanie, followed by a trip to Trader Joe’s and got a few new to me things and some staples. Organic produce: strawberries, sweet potatoes, cauliflower. Frozen: fried rice, mixed berries, corn dogs, wild caught sockeye salmon. Aged cheddar cheese, pretzel bagels. Things already consumed… strawberries and pretzel bagel on the car ride home- both delicious- and cheese once I got home- also very good! A New Cake And Riley got LUCKY!

This past weekend was the last of the birthday season for the Schroeder/Winchell households. We celebrated Rich’s birthday Sunday with late lunch of steak, salad (pear/walnut/gorgonzola), asparagus and roasted potatoes. Everything was delicious! Regular readers of this blog know that for birthdays, my mom always makes a special dessert. Love (read- Gifts) Don’t Cost a Thang

By far, my favorite Christmas gift was the gift of running! I gave this to myself on Christmas Eve day, when I ran a mini workout of 1 mile warm up, 4 x .75m @ 7:30 pace w/.25 recovery and 1 mile cool down. WORKOUT Tuesday: Pilates/ Weights at home Wednesday: 6 miles @ 8:34 pace on treadmill Still not 100% in the glute department, but no pain either. So that’s good. A Successful Weekend

WORKOUT Saturday: Body Pump I kicked my a** in Body Pump 🙂 Like the last class, I didn’t do any squats and held a plank for the entire round (about 5 1/2 min) instead. I did do lunges though and probably shouldn’t have, at least not all of them. Oh well. Now I know for next time. Sunday: 10 miles @ 8:13 pace on trail Yes yes… I did a long run today. Sweat Pink Ambassador

WORKOUT Tuesday: Pilates Pilates was awesome! The class was packed, but my sister and I made sure to grab a spot right in the front 🙂 I was always a teacher’s pet in school, so why would things change now?! The instructor (my fave Mary Anne) even had me demonstrate level 3 for a planking exercise. It’s the little things that make my day, haha.
