Nut Butter Shots

I apologize in advance for the uber randomness of this post… but I guess most of my posts have been pretty random lately, haha. Enjoy! It’s actually colder in Tampa this week! The overnight lows are in the mid 40’s and I’m loving the chance to dress Kara in some of the cute warmer clothes she has. Nana (my mom) got her the winky kitty sweater <3 It’s our routine to put shoes on in the morning on the first stair. She walks over to it and sits down, haha. Had this cup of cheesiness this week and it hit the spot. […]

I Might Be Getting To That Point

I have some Thinking Out Loud to do today… Let’s start with the light stuff… I’ve been digging frozen berry and chocolate protein powder (and of course spinach!) smoothies just as much as my pumpkin spice smoothies lately. I’m not trying to hold onto summer, as one might think. It’s going to be hot here for the next 2 months, haha. I think it just makes me want the pumpkin pie one even more the next time 😉 Still digging on my nut butter shots. Chocolate AB on the bottom <3 Just an update on my bruise… it’s like a […]

WIAW: Day of Goodness

It’s Wednesday! Let’s switch gears from all the HRF baby talk and move to another of my favorite subjects… FOOD 🙂 Happy WIAW folks! Pre-breakfast: Banana hunger buster before work.   Breakfast: The usual yogurt parfait (2% Fage Greek yogurt, chopped up blueberries and strawberries, puffed rice, almond slivers). Followed by peanut butter oatmeal (old fashioned oats, water, spoonful of PB, topped off with coconut creamer). Morning snack: An apple and desk almond butter. Lunch: A coworker and I went to lunch at Panera. I got a You Pick Two with an Asian Sesame Chicken Salad, sans wantons paired with a roasted turkey and avocado BLT. I saved the apple for the next […]

WIAW: Back on Track

Happy What I Ate Wednesday everyone! After a few weeks of over indulging- expensive (delicious) lunch meetings, birthdays, and random sweet treats– I’ve gotten back on track to being able to just say no! when offered something unhealthy. Does this mean I’m cutting out carbs and sugar and all the yummy stuff? Ummm, no. BUT, I am making a better effort to limit my sugar. I’ve said it a few times lately, but I’m for real this time. I even passed up cupcakes in the break room yesterday afternoon. Boom. BREAKFAST: Nothing new here. A yogurt parfait with 2% Fage Greek yogurt, slivered almonds, […]

WIAW: Eating for OHSS

This edition of What I Ate Wednesday is a day full of eats while I had Ovarian Hyperstimulating Syndrome (OHSS). Instead of coffee, even decaf… ample amounts of Nuun. ALL DAY. For breakfast, I had heated up ham steak instead of yogurt and had instant grits instead of oatmeal. The cheese flavor packed the biggest sodium punch! Now that’s a good southern girls breakfast! I had to lay off the sodium for a bit and had juicy apple as a morning snack. I’m probably the best apple eater you know because I get ALL THE WAY to the core. For lunch, I was able […]

WIAW: Mmmmm Food

Happy Hump Day ya’ll! Let’s celebrate with some yummy food. Thanks to Jenn for the party!! 6:45 AM= Same cottage cheese spoonfuls as last week. 7:30 AM= My morning protein Fage 2% mixed with pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. 8 AM= Zoatmeal! 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/3ish cup grated zucchini, 1 cup water, vanilla extract. Cooked on 50% power for 5 1/2 min then finished off with TJ’s coconut creamer to make it nice and rich. 10:30 AM= Half an avocado.  Always a good choice. I usually keep this for the afternoon, but today I wanted it in the AM. 12 PM= Sometimes you just crave cheese and carbs. I had […]

WIAW: Succotash & Okra

Half way through the week my friends, half way through. Let’s celebrate with some food pics and ideas from around the web on Peas&Crayons! 6:45AM= Couple bites of cottage cheese right outta the container. 7:30AM= Fage 2% plain Greek Yogurt. I find if you let it come to room temp, it has more of a cheesy “flavor,” if that makes sense. 8:45AM= Zoatmeal– 1/2 cup old fashioned oatmeal, 1/4c each water and almond milk, 1/3 c grated zucchini, splash of cherry juice, cinnamon and grated nutmeg. Stir and microwave on 50% power for 5 minutes. 10:30AM= Banana with scoop of “desk almond butter.”  12:30PM= Was […]

WIAW: Back to Normal

Happy April Fools Day! I was going to do a preggo belly joke again, but since I’m pretty superstitious, I don’t want to jinx anything. Soooo ya, still not pregnant and that’s not a joke. Here are my eats from a day at work in which I had a lunch meeting and wasn’t able to go home. I know, poor Ry girl- my first “child.” 6:45 AM: I woke up hungry, so I had a few bites of leftover Publix Apple Gouda Chicken Sausage and a banana. 7:30 AM: Still lovin the Nespresso espressos. 8 AM: 2% Fage Greek yogurt. Totally forgot a […]

I LOVE ALMONDS!

Ya’ll know how much I love my almond butter! I love making it at home with raw almonds, vanilla and salt. Mmm SO GOOD. Almonds pack a good nutritional punch and the good people over at Nuts.com sent me this fun info-graphic to show you just how awesome they are! I haven’t done any baking with almond flour yet, but Almond milk is a staple in our house. Smoothies, cereal, in a glass, in baked goods, it’s multi-functional, low in calories and high in nutrition. Almond butter. Ohhh AB. Occasionally I’ll put it on toast or in a AB&J, but you […]

WIAW: Getting in Early

This week I’ve had to get into work a lot earlier than usual, so I started off my morning with a pre-breakfast of an egg over easy. It was quick to make and eat and put a little something in my belly. Early Morning espresso. My boss recently got a Nespresso machine and I am in love! He also bought the little pods you use, similar to the whole k-cup thing, which is awesome. They come out to about .70 cents per cup, so on the “expensive side” if you ask me, but REALLY good! I was definitely awake after […]
