parents

Sorry it took me so long to get this up folks! I had the Kara Update done early so I wouldn’t have to worry about a post, post race. I normally spend Sunday night and some of Monday morning writing up my Monday post, but Kara came down with Croup (a respiratory virus) so between going to the pediatrician, caring for her and working from home, no post went up. I did enjoy the extra cuddles though! I’ll do another post on the actual trip but as for the race… I cut down on my crusiferous veggies starting Friday and […]

I’ve Had a Pretty Good Week

Monday:ย My week started off with a celebration lunch for my new position at work. We went to a local Italian place called Gio’s. We started with calamari and bruschetta, then they brought out fresh bread and salad, followed by our entrees (I split the rainbow trout with a tomato caper sauce and filet with steamed veggies) and finished off with Tiramisu and a decaf espresso. At the end, the owner came over and gave me a rose. What a special lunch all around ๐Ÿ™‚Speaking of new work things… check out my new CORNER office! This bad boy is huge AND […]

Friday Favorites: I’ve got some good ones!

I’m linking up today with Heather, Katie and Clare for Friday Favorites! I’ve got some good ones this week! HALO TOP!!! I love love love this stuff. In order of my favorites, I’ve tried: Lemon Cake, Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate. I REALLY want to try the other three (mint chip, chocolate mocha chip, bday cake) but I can’t find them anywhere ๐Ÿ™ It tastes WAY BETTER than Artic Zero AND has extra protein. Boom. Double whammy. Plus, I can eat the whole pint and not feel bad, which I may or may not have done. Vitamin E Oil & Coconut Body […]

Thirty Years

My Parents 30th Wedding Anniversary was yesterday and I SO wanted to post this then, but since my dad had a few surprises up his sleeve, I wanted to wait until after to write about it all ๐Ÿ™‚ On Sunday, Kristin (my sister) and I made dinner for them and we had a nice evening as a family. We actually got a turkey and rack of ribs smoked by Alex’s, a local BBQ place. You can bring them any piece of meat and they’ll smoke it for $1.25/lb. The ribs turned out awesome- and I’m not really a rub person- […]

Easter Happenings

So obviously this is a little late… BUT I still wanted to share with you how we celebrated Easter this year ๐Ÿ™‚ We started off by going to my parents house Saturday afternoon for an Easter Egg Hunt. Who’s doing the hunting you may ask? Our DOG-ters of course! We put dog treats inside some colorful plastic eggs and “hid” them in the back yard. Before letting them out, I let the dogs smell the treats before opening the back door…   Some were more hidden than others, haha. Maddie collected all of hers in one area, where as Riley […]

Thursday and Friday Eats

Work has been pretty slow for me lately, making this whole not running/exercising thing even harder. More time to think about how I’m not able to run and beautiful weather also aren’t helping my cause! Todd’s usual work schedule has changed to more of a night shift, which is kind of nice because the AM is when I crave running the most, but it means I’m alone at night. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE having the mornings with him, making pancakes and walking Riley, but I miss him at dinner! He finally got to meet Ry and I’s friend […]

Saturday Spectating and Sunday Thanksgiving

WORKOUT Friday: 6 miles @ 8:00 pace on trail Saturday: 6 miles @ 8:20 pace on treadmill Sunday: 6 miles @ 8:18 pace on treadmill Can you tell my new go to distance? haha. ****** My parents have always been my biggest supporters, especially in athletics. They spent countless afternoon/evenings driving my sister to and from soccer practice, gave up too many weekends and holidays to drive us around FL for tournaments and games. Not to mention the emotional side of winning/losing and the physical ailments that came along with what can be a rough sport. I haven’t played competitive […]

One more plug…

WORKOUT 6 miles @ pace on treadmill/ Ab work out I usually do Pilates on Tuesdays, but my hammies were still sore and I didn’t want to stress them even more, so I just did a core routine at home and ran. My run went well and I felt no knee pain again! I don’t want to jinx it though, so I’m not too excited about it ๐Ÿ˜‰ ****** For the third time I’m going to mention my parents 29th wedding anniversary. What can I say? I love them. I wanted to surprise them each with goodies at work for […]
