Every weekend we go over to my parents to hang out. We LOVE spending time with Nana and Grandpa, and sometimes Aunt Kristin comes, too! Kara always walks over to the backdoor, points outside and says, uhhh uhhh. This past weekend it was raining and she was so pissed she couldn’t go out, haha. The rain did let up though and Kara had fun playing in the puddles! Todd and I got sushi for lunch on Valentines Day so we could have a non-baby date. It was delish, as always. I saw a post on IG for cauliflower rice sushi and […]

…of Kara!!! As you know, Monday was Martin Luther King Day. A lot of companies had off, including Kara’s daycare, but ours (Todd and I work at the same place) did not. I am usually the one who ends up working from home or taking a vacation day to watch Kara, but this time Todd took off for a Daddy Daughter Day <3 I have to say, Kara is freaking AWESOME right now and I am totally loving this stage of her life. I was completely jealous of their extended weekend, which Todd knew, so he sent me pictures of […]

WIAW: Back on Track

Happy What I Ate Wednesday everyone! After a few weeks of over indulging- expensive (delicious) lunch meetings, birthdays, and random sweet treats– I’ve gotten back on track to being able to just say no! when offered something unhealthy. Does this mean I’m cutting out carbs and sugar and all the yummy stuff? Ummm, no. BUT, I am making a better effort to limit my sugar. I’ve said it a few times lately, but I’m for real this time. I even passed up cupcakes in the break room yesterday afternoon. Boom. BREAKFAST: Nothing new here. A yogurt parfait with 2% Fage Greek yogurt, slivered almonds, […]

WIAW: Last Work Lunch At Home

Welcome to What I Ate Wednesday! Brought to you by Jenn and Meghan. Breakfast was the typical Fage 2% (half frozen) and zoatmeal– 1/2 c oats, 1/3 c grated zucchini, 1/2 c water, microwaved for 5 min on 50% power, topped with coconut creamer to make it nice and, well, creamy! Morning snack consisted of a Cherry Pie Larabar. I think this is my favorite flavor. So far 😉 In the foreseeable future, I won’t being going home for lunch, so here is my last “at home” lunch for a while… A random hodgepodge of food. PB&J, left over green beans […]

WIAW: Back to Normal

Happy April Fools Day! I was going to do a preggo belly joke again, but since I’m pretty superstitious, I don’t want to jinx anything. Soooo ya, still not pregnant and that’s not a joke. Here are my eats from a day at work in which I had a lunch meeting and wasn’t able to go home. I know, poor Ry girl- my first “child.” 6:45 AM: I woke up hungry, so I had a few bites of leftover Publix Apple Gouda Chicken Sausage and a banana. 7:30 AM: Still lovin the Nespresso espressos. 8 AM: 2% Fage Greek yogurt. Totally forgot a […]

*What I Ate Wednesday*

The break of the fast… Nothing unusual here. 2% Fage Greek yogurt mixed with pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. Sometimes I throw it in the break room freezer right when I get in, so by the time I check e-mails and grab a cup of coffee, it’s slightly frozen around the edges 🙂 Zoatmeal, also with pumpkin and PPS, eaten at work. Obviously pumpkin isn’t only a fall thing in our household. All year long baby. My Morning Medicine… Coffee made with Hot Cocoa instead of creamer and topped with marshmallows. I’m a regular barista over here 😉 Obviously followed by some water! […]

Love (read- Gifts) Don’t Cost a Thang

By far, my favorite Christmas gift was the gift of running! I gave this to myself on Christmas Eve day, when I ran a mini workout of 1 mile warm up, 4 x .75m @ 7:30 pace w/.25 recovery and 1 mile cool down. I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to make that 7:30 pace quicker, but I didn’t want to push it too much, since I was already breaking the rules. Then Christmas day, after making breakfast at The Children’s Home and opening presents at my parents, Todd dropped me off at the trail on our drive home and I ran […]

WIAW: Just a Typical Day at the Office

Here’s another day in the life of HRF’s tummy! Thanks to Jenn for hosting What I Ate Wednesday!   8:00 AM: I brought zoatmeal, but ended up having this… A frosting filled chocolate glazed huge donut from Nicolas– the best donut place around. So sweet and the perfect pairing to my Starbucks Anniversary Blend coffee 🙂 9:00 AM: Fage 2% Greek yogurt with left over homemade cranberry relish. So.Good. I didn’t get a pic, which is surprising, since I ate this every day last week as part of my breakfast. 12:30 PM: I had to run some errands during my lunch hour, so I ate […]
