Every weekend we go over to my parents to hang out. We LOVE spending time with Nana and Grandpa, and sometimes Aunt Kristin comes, too! Kara always walks over to the backdoor, points outside and says, uhhh uhhh. This past weekend it was raining and she was so pissed she couldn’t go out, haha. The rain did let up though and Kara had fun playing in the puddles! Todd and I got sushi for lunch on Valentines Day so we could have a non-baby date. It was delish, as always. I saw a post on IG for cauliflower rice sushi and […]

Cauliflower Sushi

I got a blister under a blister on the bottom of my left foot… a week before the Disney Marathon. Seriously?! I usually run a few 1200’s 5 days before the race and I was worried about my open blister so I wore a blister pad covered with duck tape (I read several things that said duck tape will stay in place) and it worked great! Why not take the day off? Well, I wanted to test out running this way in case it didn’t heal enough. I wouldn’t want to go into the race trying this out, it not […]

#1: Found these at Publix… Trader Joe’s riced cauliflower is $1.99 for the same 12 oz bag. BUT Publix is much closer to me than TJ’s and these were good! I like that they have something like this in a main stream grocery store #2: Buff Bake Protein Cookies… I was sent a bunch of Buff Bake stuff for being apart of their #buffbaketribe. I wasn’t a huge fan of the other cookies, but this one was much better! It was much less “protein bar like” and I really liked the white chocolate chunks and peanut pieces! These make for a […]

Happy Monday, folks! This time next week I’ll have run the Towpath Marathon and hopefully have another Boston Qualifying time under my belt! I think it’s important to have a few goals going into race day, so here are mine: #1- BQ with a 3:30   #2- “just” BQ (3:35)   #3- Enjoy the scenery and good weather. I would REALLY like to hit that 3:30 mark and the plan I’ve been following should get me there. I know I’ve put in the miles and hard work and I need to trust my training. But there’s that small voice in […]

Let’s talk running! I’ve been nailing my workouts. With Jack Daniel’s plan you pick a peak mileage for the training cycle- I’m going with 55. Those miles are broken down into two quality workouts a week and easy runs. Each week he gives you a percentage of peak mileage to hit. So if my two quality workouts equal 22 miles- say a 14m long run and a 8m speed- and my mileage for the week is 90%- 50 miles- I fill in the rest of the week with 28 easy miles. What I like about this is that I can run 7 […]

Nuun Halo Top Run

Before we get to the workouts, Kara wanted to wish everyone a Happy Belated Valentines Day <3 Monday: Body Pump. Kara didn’t let me finish class this time… I had to leave halfway through to feed her. Bummer. At least we had some fun afterwards. Tummy time for the win! Tuesday: .5m warm up/ .5m @ 7:30/ .5m rest/ .75m @ 7:30/ .5m rest/ 1m @ 7:30/ .5m rest/ 1.25m @ 7:30/ .5m cool down Did a semi speed workout on the treadmill. I know the rests (~9 min pace) are a little long. Maybe this week I’ll try this same run […]

WORKOUTS Sunday: 6 miles @ 8:33 pace on trail with Todd Monday: Rest Tuesday: 4 miles @ 8:00 pace on treadmill/ Pilates Wednesday: 5 miles @ 8:23 pace on trail with Jolene ****** I’m jumping on the What I Ate Wednesday wagon again and linking up with Jenn at Peas And Crayons, to bring you my delicious eats from this weekend. My birthday isn’t for a few weeks, but due to some unfavorable circumstances, we had to celebrate this weekend. Saturday started with a run on the treadmill and the usual oatmeal/protein shake combo for breakfast. Lunch was ham and […]
