To start this off on a somewhat random note: at my work, you can only roll over so many weeks of vacation. For maternity leave, if you want to get paid a full paycheck the whole time your off, you have to supplement with your vacation and sick time (and even then it’s not going to last you 3 months). Happy Monday! Last week was pretty great. Not having to deal with shots and only having to take estrogen (to build up my lining) has been a great “break.” I have an appointment tomorrow (Tuesday) to check how my lining is coming along and then I’ll start adding in more meds and progesterone shots- eeeee. The only side affects I’ve gotten from the estrogen is tiredness and mild headaches, so for now, I’m enjoying no bloating and less mood swings!I got in a decent mid week run of 9 miles @ 8:14 pace. Every weekend we go over to my parents to hang out. We LOVE spending time with Nana and Grandpa, and sometimes Aunt Kristin comes, too! I got a blister under a blister on the bottom of my left foot… a week before the Disney Marathon. Seriously?! I usually run a few 1200’s 5 days before the race and I was worried about my open blister so I wore a blister pad covered with duck tape (I read several things that said duck tape will stay in place) and it worked great! #1: Found these at Publix… Trader Joe’s riced cauliflower is $1.99 for the same 12 oz bag. BUT Publix is much closer to me than TJ’s and these were good! I like that they have something like this in a main stream grocery store 🙂 #2: Buff Bake Protein Cookies… I was sent a bunch of Buff Bake stuff for being apart of their #buffbaketribe. I wasn’t a huge fan of the other cookies, but this one was much better! Happy Monday, folks! This time next week I’ll have run the Towpath Marathon and hopefully have another Boston Qualifying time under my belt! Let’s talk running! I’ve been nailing my workouts. With Jack Daniel’s plan you pick a peak mileage for the training cycle- I’m going with 55. Those miles are broken down into two quality workouts a week and easy runs. Each week he gives you a percentage of peak mileage to hit. So if my two quality workouts equal 22 miles- say a 14m long run and a 8m speed- and my mileage for the week is 90%- 50 miles- I fill in the rest of the week with 28 easy miles.
