Todd

Hey hey!!! We are super happy in the Winchell household, as Todd is home! He got back Saturday after being in Israel for 8 days for work. He almost didn’t make it home with all the cancelled/delayed Delta flights. I surprised myself with some solid runs while he was gone- which is always tough with work and Kara. I like to call it my single parent life. I got in two 8 milers before Kara woke up during the week… The actual running part is easy, it’s the, shower, wake Kara up, get me, get her ready, drive (in more traffic […]

WIAW: Just When I Thought it was Over

Welcome to another edition of What I Ate Wednesday! Brought to you by Jenn at Peas and Crayons. Here is my Monday in meals… 6:45 AM= Spoonful of another yummy batch of homemade almond butter. Yes, I licked scraped the bowl clean when I made it on Sunday 🙂 7:30 AM= First cup of coffee of the morning… followed by half my bottle of water of course 😉 8:00 AM= 2% Fage plain Greek yogurt. Easy, filling and portable. 9:00 AM= Zoatmeal: 1/2 cup old fashion oats, 1 cup almond milk, about 1/3 cup grated zucchini with vanilla, fresh ground nutmeg and cinnamon microwaved […]

Offical Co-Workers and the Cold Week

I hope I haven’t overloaded you guys with “Todd-ness” these last few posts! What can I say? I’m glad he’s back in time for the Holidays (if you recall, he was gone October through December last year.) Todd took the week after he got back from Taiwan off as vacation, so our official first day as co-workers was Monday… and it was AWESOME! He has a bit more flexible schedule than me, so we got to work at different times. Once I got in, he came over to my desk to welcome me to the company and check out my […]

Our Anniversary Weekend

Friday, November 14th was Todd and I’s 4 year wedding anniversary. You don’t know how happy it made me that he was back home in time! Work travel has its perks (like getting MY travel paid for, too) but it most definitely has its drawbacks! Todd said he’d do everything in his power to be home this anniversary and he delivered 🙂 We decided to take a mini weekend vacay to Orlando to celebrate. Not going to lie, I did a horrible job at getting pictures this weekend. It just wasn’t on the top of my mind but I did get a […]

Todd. Is. Back. ALRIGHT!

I hope you read the title like the song, “Back Streets Back, Alright!” Sooooo, I’ve been keeping a little something from you guys… Todd’s been in Taiwan again for work for the past 5 weeks. While it’s much better than the THREE MONTHS he was there last year, it still sucked. This is why we “had” to do my birthday early and why he wasn’t there at Cristino’s for my birthday pizza. That was such a great family picture and it would have been complete with him (and Riley and Maddie (Kristin’s dog)) of course! Speaking of Maddie… My mom […]

TJ’s Pizza, Candy Corn= Running Fuel & Todd Has a New Co-Worker

WORKOUTS So I know I brought this section back after I was able to start running again, but since I’m literally doing the same things every week (1- 6 mile run, 3 to 4 four mile runs and 1-2 Body Pump classes) I figure I’ll get rid of the workouts for now. If I was doing tempos, intervals and pace runs, I’d be sure to share, but the same ole 4 miler gets boring to read about. I’ll just allude to my runs in my posts. ****** Let’s start with the weekend. I tried the Trader Joe’s Roasted Vegetable Pizza […]

Someone Slept in the Living Room and Someone’s Turning 4!

WORKOUTS Thursday: 4 miles @ 9:07 pace outside/ Body Pump Friday: 4 miles @ 8:30 pace on treadmill Saturday: 6 miles @ 8:33 pace on trail ****** Remember how I told you Riley had to get 4 staples and a larger cone?  Well, as you can see in the “pre-surgery” picture below, our bed is raised and Riley likes loves to sleep under it. It’s her safe place. Her “home.” She already couldn’t fit underneath it with the first cone, but then she was given a larger cone and couldn’t turn around in our room without hitting everything. Can you see […]

PB Cups, Parties and Pizza

WORKOUTS Thursday: Rest Friday: 4 miles @ 8:45 pace on treadmill/ Body Pump Saturday: 6 miles @ 8:37 pace on trail Sunday: Rest ****** I was lucky enough to get in two runs outside this week, BOTH with girlfriends. Doesn’t get much better than that in the running world… at least mine for the time being 🙂 Saturday I met up with Marissa to keep her company during her 18 miler. She was great and didn’t mind when I asked to slow down or stop for water- which we did twice. The temp was around 78 degrees with 85%  humidity […]

A Fun Long Weekend

So it seems as if I’m just a weekly blogger these days… To be honest, I don’t have that much going on and don’t want to just ramble on about nothing and bore you guys to death, so I’m only going to post when I have good content. K? K. Memorial Day weekend for the Winchell fam is about celebrating our veterans and a few birthdays- Todd’s, Riley’s and my MIL. We used to get Riley a HUGE raw hide bone, but found that they upset her stomach and aren’t really that good for her. So I’ve switched to making […]

Taipei Dream Runner 10k

First off, Merry Christmas Eve! I am so excited to now be able to say I’ve raced internationally! Todd found this race a few weeks before I got out here and with the help of a local guy he worked with, was able to register us online. It was comical to read the Google translated instructions. The bib was called “cloth,” and the post race food was labeled as “explosive meal,” to name a few. I literally laughed out loud when I read that. The race was at 5 pm and we had to be there by 4:30, so I […]
