Trader Joe’s

Good Food, Drinks and Company

Last week was full of fun times with friends and family, and of course involved some great food. We went over to my parents house during the week to watch the Lightning Game- if you didn’t know, they are in the Stanley Cup Finals. That particular night they won, wooo hoo! For dinner, my mom prepared roasted chicken, asparagus and veggie pasta salad with feta. For dessert we had Breyers Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. It’s been my favorite since I was a little girl. I think the white and green kinds taste different and while I love all ice […]

Highlights from Last Week

I went on a fun ice cream date with Stephanie, followed by a trip to Trader Joe’s and got a few new to me things and some staples. Organic produce: strawberries, sweet potatoes, cauliflower. Frozen: fried rice, mixed berries, corn dogs, wild caught sockeye salmon. Aged cheddar cheese, pretzel bagels. Things already consumed… strawberries and pretzel bagel on the car ride home- both delicious- and cheese once I got home- also very good! My favorite grocery store, Publix, has these stations in each store that make meals for people to sample and then has all the ingredients right there to […]

WIAW: Mmmmm Food

Happy Hump Day ya’ll! Let’s celebrate with some yummy food. Thanks to Jenn for the party!! 6:45 AM= Same cottage cheese spoonfuls as last week. 7:30 AM= My morning protein Fage 2% mixed with pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice. 8 AM= Zoatmeal! 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/3ish cup grated zucchini, 1 cup water, vanilla extract. Cooked on 50% power for 5 1/2 min then finished off with TJ’s coconut creamer to make it nice and rich. 10:30 AM= Half an avocado.  Always a good choice. I usually keep this for the afternoon, but today I wanted it in the AM. 12 PM= Sometimes you just crave cheese and carbs. I had […]

Latest Trader Joe’s Purchases

I love trips to Trader Joe’s and I wish there was one closer. Join me for a look into my shopping cart… Let me start off by saying that since the drive is long, pretty much anything that can be eaten in the car is at least sampled. The Soft Pretzel Sticks are not a new TJ’s item for me. These babies are the best pretzel rolls around. For Realz. Even Riley wants to get in on that deliciousness. Christina always told me about how awesome the Gyoza is, so I FINALLY tried it and YES! It is super good! […]

2015! MyProtein and TJ’s Finds

When MyProtein reached out to me to try their products, I couldn’t resist! I was sent their Peanut Butter, Impact Whey Protein Powder and Omega 3 capsules. Let’s start out with my favorite thing… the Peanut Butter! It’s nothing but straight up peanuts. Perfect. And look how big the container is compared to my TJ’s cashew and almond butter… And it is perfectly drippy! Is that a good adjective? Maybe runny or liquidy? It’s not the best to make a sandwich with because of this, but we all know my fave way of eating nut butters is in a shot glass […]

WIAW: A Day Off of Work

WORKOUTS Monday: 4 miles @ 8:45 pace on treadmill/ Body Pump Tuesday: 4 miles @ 8:15 pace on treadmill/ Pilates Wednesday: 4 miles @ 8:30 pace on treadmill ****** Today’s eats are from last Thursday. Thursday’s are probably one of my favorite days, because I get to a) run with my girlfriend Kristen and b) take Body Pump with my favorite instructor. The icing on the cake this particular Thursday was that I had the day off, so I also got to have some good eats and enjoy a nice dinner with Todd! Thanks to Jenn for the food party! […]

Lay’s Chips, Mexican Trader Joe’s and Some Things to Help Get Pregnant (I Hope)

WORKOUTS Monday: 4 miles @ 8:45 pace on treadmill/ Body Pump Tuesday: 4 miles @ 8:35 pace on trail/ Pilates Wednesday: Rest Thursday: 4 miles @ 8:45 pace on treadmill/ Body Pump ****** Lets get right to it… Last year, Lays held a flavor contest and I tried the three winning flavors and so this year, when they did it again, I knew I had to try them! The Mango Salsa were really good and very mangoy. I really liked that they were the heavier, wavy chips. If you like mango, you’ll love these, as they are more on the […]

Update, Mac N Cheese, 7:50AM

WORKOUTS Thursday: Rest Friday: Body Pump Saturday: 3 miles @ 9:00 pace on treadmill ****** I have a baby update for yall, but don’t get excited. My new specialist had me get a brain MRI to make sure there was nothing wrong with my pituitary glad or anything else up there and it came back clean- yay! I also had a hysterosalpingogram (HSG test) which looks at the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes and the area around them. I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but I actually yelled out “OMG it hurts!” during the test, haha. Needless to say, it was uber […]

I Committed.

Three weeks ago Friday, I tried Trader Joe’s Almond Butter for the first time. Normally, Kristin and I make it at my parents house (I don’t have a food processor), but I was all of AB and not going to my parents for a few days- that’s just too long to go without almond butter. Pam and I were going on an ice cream date out by Trader Joe’s so we stopped there on the way home. Among other things, I purchased their all natural, salt added, almond butter. Now. Pam and I had gone in the afternoon and Todd had […]

A Battle Wound, TJ Finds and Riley Walks

See that bruise?! That’s a battle wound from the specialist taking blood. Every time I have blood work (which is about every 2 weeks these days) I tell them that my veins roll. And every time they say, OK, no problem. Well that bruise above= a problem. It hurts! It’s kind of hard to see it, but I couldn’t get a better picture. The red dot is where they stuck the needle and then she kept pushing up and up. Ugh. Oddly, it bruised down instead of up. It looks like Todd beats me. He doesn’t. Because if he did, […]
