WIAW

I thought it would be fun to do a WIAW about my food and routine on a work day when I’m running. So here it goes… Wake up at early-o’clock! Depending on my run, I’ll either drink Nuun or Amino Energy or both, while I foam roll. After sleeping all night, my legs are tight and need a little warming up before I start working them. I save the BCAA’s for after a run. Start running! I either hop on the treadmill or meet Jolene to run outside. During the week I keep my runs to 6-8 miles and vary […]

I haven’t done a WIAW in a loooooooooong time. Mainly because I can never remember to take pictures of everything I eat. Jolene and I decided we’d do one this week since we keep each other motivated to stay on the healthy train. We both live the¬†80/20 life… There’s no deprivation here (see last post with huge chocolate cake!) GOOD MORNING from Kara… seriously, this kid (baby?!) is so awesome. Her smile is contagious and you just can’t help but be happy when you’re around her… unless it’s 3AM and she’s crying hysterically because her teeth hurt and she has […]

I haven’t done a What I Ate Wednesday in a looooong time. Let me start off by saying that my “meals” while on maternity leave are quite different from my past WIAWs at work. No longer can I have my beloved yogurt parfaits, whey shakes, or froyo/ice cream dates. Yes, I now have 3 breakfasts… totally normal. Breastfeeding hunger is real and top that off with running and Body Pump, means this girls gotta eat! Pre-Breakfast: I typically nurse around 3-3:30AM. This means I get up, feed and burp Kara, change her diaper, then pump the other boob. This whole […]

I mentioned a while back how I’m keeping my protein up during pregnancy. I’ve cut back the carbs a bit- which is SO HARD being a pre-preggo crazy runner- and try to add in protein everywhere I can. We all know how much I love nut butters and I’ve always wanted to try the ones with added protein. I finally got my hands on some samples sent from Buff Bake and am IMPRESSED! I tried the Snickerdoodle almond spread first, as I’ve read good things about it. It was good, but out of the three, it came in third. Next […]

WIAW: Dinner?!?

I’ve got a What I Ate Wednesday for you guys this week! I figured since my eats are pretty much the same thing, with a few variations, I’d just do a WIAW every other week. Don’t want ya’ll to get bored! With starting my new position on Monday, I’m still in the transition phase and they don’t have someone to take my place, so I’m pretty much doing two jobs- at two desks, haha. It’s keeping me busy, that’s for sure ūüôā   Pre-Breakfast:¬†(New desk)¬†Lemon water. Ever since I tried it a week ago, I’ve been sticking to it and […]

WIAW: Back on Track

Happy What I Ate Wednesday everyone! After a few weeks of over indulging- expensive (delicious) lunch meetings, birthdays,¬†and random sweet treats– I’ve gotten back on track to being able to¬†just say no! when offered something unhealthy. Does this mean I’m cutting out carbs and sugar and all the yummy stuff? Ummm, no. BUT, I am making a better effort to limit my sugar. I’ve said it a few times lately, but I’m for real this time. I even passed up cupcakes in the break room yesterday afternoon. Boom. BREAKFAST: Nothing new here. A¬†yogurt parfait with¬†2% Fage Greek yogurt, slivered almonds, […]

WIAW: Just Another Yummy Day

I skipped What I Ate Wednesday last week, but I’m back at it! Check out my day of eats and treats and see what others are munching on at¬†Sprint to the Table. BREAKFAST:¬†Yogurt Parfait at work. 2% Fage greek yogurt, chopped up strawberries and blueberries, slivered almonds and puffed rice cereal. I’ve been LOVING this combo. I’ve debated taking this as part of my lunch a few times, haha, but baby needs different nutrients. After finishing up a few power point slides, I realized that I forgot to grab my peanut butter oatmeal. Booo! I settled on a back up […]

WIAW: A Yummy Day of Eats!

It’s What I Ate Wednesday time! Join the party at Peas and Crayons and see what others are munching on! PRE-BREAKFAST:¬†Woke up hungry, so I had a cut up peach from a market I went to this weekend. BREAKFAST:¬†My new regimen… ¬†A Yogurt Parfait- 2% Fage Greek Yogurt, halved blueberries, chopped strawberries, puffed wheat and almond slivers. Followed by PB Oatmeal-¬†old fashioned oats cooked in water, topped off with peanut butter and coconut creamer¬†for creaminess. MORNING SNACK:¬†I went down to Todd’s desk and stole a¬†handful of trail mix I made him for his desk. I couldn’t have something like that […]

WIAW: Sloppy Joe’s and Black Bean Brownies

Happy Hump Day Folks! This week has actually gone by pretty fast for me. Monday I had a good amount of work to keep me busy and then we went to my parents for dinner and to watch the Lightning lose the Stanley Cup ūüôĀ Tuesday I had several meetings- two with free food! And today’s half way through the week. Nice. Let’s party on with Jenn and celebrate all the food. BREAKFAST:¬†I’ve been enjoying Trader Joe’s Pretzel Bagels for breakfast at work. I bring a little container of half cream cheese¬†for the bottom and¬†half butter for the top. I […]

WIAW: Last Week

Welcome to another edition of What I Ate Wednesday! Breakfast was a bit different this week.¬†A yogurt parfait with¬†Fage 2% yogurt, halved blueberries, diced up strawberries, puffed cereal and almond slivers.¬†It was so good and filling! A little after that¬†I had¬†peanut butter oatmeal. I KNOW! It’s not zoatmeal. I ran out of zucchini last week and had to make due without. Don’t worry though, the PB more than made up it ūüėČ Morning snack of an apple (organic of course- dirty dozen people). For lunch, I had left over spaghetti and meatballs from my parents. Something about mom’s cooking is […]
